Another excellent Oregon campground

Three loops, well maintained sites, friendly/helpful rangers, lots of trees, backs up to dunes, beach access, fire rings and wood for sale.

The campground was almost full upon our arrival on Thursday afternoon. This is apparently a very popular state park but we didn’t like it because the sites we have passed and the one we occupied offered zero privacy. The loop looked more like a parking lot with lined up RVs and some (pretty) trees. Camping here equals dealing with a... More

I stayed with my friend for one night and it was wonderful. The beach is a short walk away from every site. The sites are large and the bathrooms were clean and the showers were warm! All around a wonderful place to stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights in July while exploring south to Tillamook and north to Seaside. It was well set up with showers, playground and even roads but we especially enjoyed the short walk over the dunes to the beach. Beautiful sand and incredible driftwood made for some wonderful evenings on the beach watching sunsets around the campfire. We... More

The location and facilities are just fine. We only stayed one night so take this with a grain of salt but people were pretty noisy here. And one group left their poor dog in the RV for several hours. It barked it's head off the whole time. It seems they left again in the evening and it cried for another... More

As we traveled north, we stopped at Nehalem Bay State Park for lunch. It is a bit off the 101, but a restful place for lunch. Nice views of the bay on the way out.

Wifey and myself took our 23ft trailer to this park from seattle for a week of camping and rest. Campsites provided are very easy to back in to, and the park is very clean and quiet. Lots of spaces for any requirement size wise, and they provide water and power in both 30 and 50 amp. I do wish they... More

This park seems to be always full--even midweek in September!!! Rangers have told me they turn away at least 200 people every day in the summer. Nicely maintained park. You need some degree of fitness to climb over the sand dunes to access the huge ocean beach. But you can walk a good distance on the firm sand when you... More

Nehalem Bay State Park is a beautiful location, all camp sites are close to the beach, the camp sites are clean, well maintained, friendly helpful staff. Bathrooms and shower stalls are okay, could use some maintenance but has hot and cold water, clean. Dog friendly. Good fire pits and lots of wood available to purchase at a good rate for... More

Without a reservation and the sign at the highway stating "FULL", we took a chance in the iffy weather and pulled up to the Ranger booth. A number of cancellations meant a site was available. Unfortunately, none of the yurts were though. Clean park and bathrooms with decent showers. Friendly and helpful staff made a number of dinner recommendations in... More
