My family of 4 went out with Abigail to tide pool as a birthday visit to the beach. Even if you tide pool regularly, you have no idea what you are missing if you haven't gone out with a knowledgable biologist. Abigail was skilled at spotting tide pool creatures, enthusiastic and engaging with our whole family including kids 8 y/o and 10 y/o. She pointed out edibles which was another bonus. I recommend going out with Northwest Eco Tours in the morning (following guide's recommendations for best time for tides of course) and then staying at the beach to continue hunting because you will then know what to look for, and its hard to stop!

We had planned a September 19th fish day well in advance with N.W. Eco Tours - as friends we’re coming in from out of town. That can be pretty “iffy” to plan anything on the Oregon coast, especially Salmon fishing. Good thing we have Captain Greg to take care of the Plan B… The Bar ( ocean type ) was closed as it turns out that morning so Greg steered us up the Yaquina for some river fishing. We scored both large Chinook and Coho – though the Coho were let go because of the statewide river closure to native runs. Compared to the big boat charter services, Northwest Eco Tours is more productive, comfortable seating and less crowded. We also enjoyed the birding on the Yaquina. A job well done – well be back!

I want to express my appreciation for the professionalism and courtesy of Northwest Ecotours & Guide Services. When searching for a fishing guide service, unless you know the company, can really be a gamble however, I highly recommend Captain Greg Niles and Northwest Ecotours and Guide Services. He was timely in answering emails and calls in order to arrange my first trip in the Pacific to fish for salmon. He made sure I had everything I needed and made the experience of one in which I will return. Greg is extremely knowledgeable of the area and will assist you with the best fishing experience in the Newport area. Thank you Greg...I look forward to seeing you next year.

We hired Abigail to give us a two hour tidal pool tour, and it was a highlight of our trip. She asked about our group and where we were staying, and then she picked a time with a low tide and a location that was close to our hotel and easily accessible. She was familiar with the different tidal pool areas, and so she knew right where to go to see amazing tidal pools teeming with life. Abigail pointed out things I would have never seen on my own (like tiny, juvenile star fish and elaborate sea slugs!), and she was a wealth of information about the habitats and animals. She also pointed out a rare nesting pair of oyster catchers, which was an unexpected bonus sighting! I highly recommend Northwest Eco Tour and Abigail! We are excited to try some of their other tours on future trips.

My wife and three kids (15, 14 and 12) went tidepooling with Abigail from Eco-Adventures. It was absolutely fantastic! The two hours slipped by so fast.... Abigail was able to make it interesting -- and exciting -- for both kids and adults. She is also expert in her field, and I (a science teacher) learned a whole lot. I highly recommend it -- thank you, Abigail! Jim and Linda and family
