On a whim, we pulled off the highway to this lookout. As there is more elevation here than in other spots along the coast, the views are amazing. We were a bit concerned the gift shop was going to be run-down or just generally unappealing,...More

This turned out to be a wonderful stop on our trip! They have all kinds of souvenirs (National Park), and large indoor windows for whale watching! I saw several!

Stopped and took advantage of the view. We were lucky to have great weather. The view was amazing. After reading some history, you can almost feel how excited the explorers must have been when they reached land.

We almost always find whales, close to shore, in the little bay as you turn onto the north end of Otter Crest Loop, and we did again - at least 5 individuals taking a meal in the kelp beds there. The drive is very scenic,...More

This is definitely worth a half hour or so to enjoy the views of the scenic Oregon coast. The gift shop is also very good and the staff friendly. Even on a foggy day (such as when we were there) provides some nice photo ops.

You have good answers already. While the gift shop has the best location for taking pictures, you can go to the right of the building and walk up to the fence to get a picture. They are right about no restriction on being up... More
