Small rare butterfly that must have a very specific plant to survive. Also wintering habitat for several races of both Canada and Cackling Geese. Beautiful spot well worth a visit on a sunny day. Good trails and good for kids. Good stop for birders when...More

We went first thing in the morning and even though it was labor day weekend there was practically no one there. We parked at the bottom lot to get some extra walking in, but the upper lot can accommodate 6 or 8 cars. Unfortunately we...More

Thanks for the nice review. We hope you'll return again and this time will see wildlife. This past week Black-tailed deer, a black bear and many geese were seen by other visitors.

We didn’t see any wildlife during our one hour visit. It was a nice walk, but saw more deer at the beach.

At the top of the trail there is extensive coastal prairie restoration hoping to provide habitat for a native butterfly. The wildflowers were beautiful and the views were stunning and the thrushes were singing.. what more could a hiker want? except I read that there...More

We had the misfortune of visiting on the day of the eclipse, shortly after totality, when the fog was still obscuring the sun and surroundings. We drove to the upper parking lot and walked the universally accessible path to the overlook. We met a group...More

Pretty vistas on a wandering narrow road to an overlook of diked grasslands and grazing beefstock. The placards are an interesting read about the different subspecies of Canadian geese that feed here ( none during our visit), and the collaboration between local farmers and the...More

I'm glad most kayakers haven't discovered this great location (Oops, I may be blowing it here). The bay is sheltered, beautiful, diverse, and easily accessible. I'd call it "World Class", but then I haven't kayaked the whole world (yet).

Very nice spot. Great views of the coast. Highly recommend! The only disappointment was the lack of armed occupiers. I thought that all refuges in Oregon had occupiers... Seriously though it's worth the stop!
