Watching Science

Don't go during the week if you want a peaceful experience. Thankfully there are many children who visit the museum; however, it becomes very noisy.

I did a weekday visit with older family to check out the museum and all it's glory. I was worried in a couple different levels due to my parents mobility issues for visiting the different exhibits (submarine, theater, 2nd level), kids running around everywhere. I was able to check-out a wheelchair for free, use the elevator when needed and got... More

But you have to pay for parking. It is VERY expensive but the exhibits are mostly hands on. We saw ONLY the museum and the traveling exhibit, no movies or submarine. But it was VERY good for young children. We did NOT eat at the museum either. The gift shop is average and pricey.

Modest size museum, you can see it all in a day. Nice OMNI, okay cafeteria, but the best things are the special exhibits. Nice gift shop and snacks for the theater. Good place to go in the winter without tourists. Much cheaper if you go repeatedly with a membership especially the Large screen movies which rotate and are usually an... More

We had heard a lot about OMSI and had visited in the past when it was in the old location near the zoo (a long time ago). The current location and building is very nice, and it's great that it's now easily accessible via the MAX (light rail system). But we felt it was way overpriced, especially if you don't... More

We went to the OMSI on a rainy morning and it definitely had enough to keep the kids entertained for a few hours. There were lots of hands on activities and it was definitely geared towards the under 12s I would say. I thought it was a bit overpriced, especially when you are from Canada and have the bad exchange... More

This is a wonderful place to enhance your education and enjoy learning for anyone of any age. There are so many hands on displays for everyone to try and many activities for children. You can spend all day and not see everything. Moderate price for admission and some individual exhibits require a secondary payment between $5-$7. The restaurant here is... More

If you have a complete full day, spend it here with your kids (yes even if you have some teens in the group). I would recommend you also spend the extra money to go to at least 1 of their shows in the Empirical Theater. (It's amazing and worth the extra cost). I about freaked out at the cost (over... More
