This place is attempting to be everything for everyone, on a random weekend there was a large animation show for busy children, which was fine. But also noisy and only large in the way a circus is large..it was small in terms of scope and...More

While visiting my son we also stopped in to view this fantastic Asian art exhibit. Loved this cultural Portland experience. This art museum is a great little gem- not too overwhelming but large enough to make you feel you have experienced an art museum!

We visited the Portland Art Museum on a quiet Saturday morning. It was neither crowded nor empty, and we enjoyed the diverse exhibits ranging from Chinese art to modern art and everything in between. Included are a variety of major impressionist artists including Pissaro and...More

We've been to PAM quite a few times (we are from out of town, so it is a little more of an effort), and each visit is impressive for the thoughtful and surprisingly focused shows and selections that this museum offers. Far better than Seattle's...More

The wooden floors are pretty but crackle and creak when walked on. Very distracting. This is some kind of fiasco. Fun gift shop though.

Last year, when we visited Portland, there was an exhibit of mid-century fashion. This year, an exhibit from the Smithsonian Art Museum featuring the Roby collection of 20th Century realism. The museum is clean and quiet except for the wonderfully flexible and squeaky wood floors....More

A lovely museum with a smorgasbord of different types of art on display. I am not much of an art critic, but I did thoroughly enjoy myself. There is a lot more here than I was able to cover in my 5 hours, so plan...More

Who knew! Imagine our shock when we entered the companion building to the main museum and came across Monet's lilypads, a Renoir and other stellar Impressionist paintings. Hidden jewels we had no idea were there. A must-see destination in Portland.
