Above the zoo there are some amazing trails to hike around with many different levels of difficulty and distance. Beautiful forest ., great for bird watching. Great even on a rainy day as trees make a nice canopy, no umbrella necessary

Trees as far as the eye can see. Many labelled telling the type. Multiple trails can lead you to see specific genus like maple, fir etc. Some trails are paved, others are gravel or dust/sand and can vary from being in the deep forest to...More

Very peaceful, serene evening walk on a Sunday evening. Saw maybe 2 other people walking. Trails are easy on the feet and not too steep of an incline. So many different trees to look at!

Fabulous place - HUGE trees and lots of trails - just beautiful - we got lost several times. The map was terrible, but lots of folks helped us figure out how to get to the bottom

Decent shoes helped, but we did a walk through the Hoyt and saw all the beautiful redwoods, lots of flowers and new shoots popping up. It was pretty magical... To get there we took the tram and walked up, then at the other end waited...More

To find a place that's about a five-minute drive from NW Portland, where one can walk daily and feel transported to a non-urban environment is a treasure indeed. My husband and I (and our dogs) love, love, love this place. There are plenty of trails...More

We have been to numerous Arboretums throughout the country. Most were much more formal than the one here. There were some paths if you want to walk the are. To be honest it just looked like a wooded area to us, unless we missed something.

A great place for a slow, peaceful walk. The Vietnam War Memorial is very impressive. Best done on weekdays.
