I love the crap out of this place. A great place to pick your own crops just like a day laborer. Fun!

Went to pick tomatoes, ended up with tomatoes, peppers of all kinds, squash, summer and winter, corn and some onions. Crowds of people with wagons set up to pick black eyed peas and field beans. Some ethnic veggies, specific peppers and beans. Great eggplants, bring a clipper or knife, they are hard to pick. Lot of variety between farms. Earlier... More

Sauvies Island is a nice scenic trip from Portland and its great to see all the farms, especially the specialty farms such as Lavender. This review is for the store/produce stand only. Many people go to Sauvies and the opportunity to serve and make money is great but the owners here dont have that vision. Perhaps they are completely happy... More

We live in Chicago and visit Portland every summer. After finding Sauvie Island Farms 4 years ago, the kids want to come here every time we are in town. They love the fresh berries - the Hood Strawberries and Yellow raspberries are the best. They look forward to coming here every year.

Lots of fun for families with kids! Places to run around while mom and dad buy local produce and fruit. There are usually activities year around.

Remember there are several different typs. September has lots to choose from. Check out the starwberrys in may june. Easy to find read the signs the farmers... More

I love going to Sauvie Island to get my cucumbers for my pickles, they have the best in my opinion. Also yummy strawberry's, actually any of their berries are worth the trip. It is a ways, in my view, but on a lovely day, in the mornings before traffic gets hectic, go out and visit the farms. VERY family friendly... More
