Pretty cool statue on the Portland building. Great to see when passing by downtown and also visible from nearby buildings. It's difficult to get a good photograph as there are trees on the street. I would not go out of my way to see her...More

We went to the building to see the statue of Portlandia. It is a huge statue. The best is to go into the building to the second floor to a description of the building and the Portlandia sculpture---open to the public with no charge.

We walked all the way around the building before we realized we had started underneath it. From across the street you can see about 75% of the statue. Why don't they keep the trees trimmed? There is a nice plaque in front of the building...More

You have to be in the building across the street, 3 floors up to get a good view of this crap shooter statue. Perhaps when the city rebuilds this waste of taxpayer dollars, they can relocate to statue to a more visible place. Like in a...More

Honestly we only saw this monument thanks to our tour guide taking us to see it. The everyday Portlander probably doesn't even know it's there due to being welded onto the side of a building above some trees. The sculptor has reserved all copyrights of...More

This building has a unique facade and architectural detail. It was ahead of its time when it was built but now fits into this quirky city so well.

Huge bronze statue high above street on 5th Ave. Portlandia looks down over the city. Best viewed from across the street, or from building across street which has elevator up one floor. Plaque on street gives information re statue. Smaller replica situated on first floor...More

If you can barely see a landmark when you're standing right next to it, it's badly displayed. It's too large for the location and hidden behind trees half of the year. I'm downgrading it to 3 stars because it's so difficult to see.

The statue of Portlandia was much bigger than I anticipated. It was so large I had a hard time getting a decent picture. It was really quite impressive.

Currently the symbol of the city of Portland, Portlandia, hides herself away from the view of most visitors to downtown Portland. Far from the crowds of the Saturday Market, Voodoo Doughnuts, and Powell's bookstore, Portlandia quietly crouches down from above the SW 5th Ave bus...More
