Wonderful hike, several trails to enjoy, too. We had a nice easy hike up to the top for a beautiful view of the snow covered mountains, Mount Saint Helens, Mount Hood and Mount Adams. What a thrill to view from a simple hike - a major coup for Portland to have preserved this land! At the base of the trail... More

My favorite time to visit is later in the Fall, hardly anyone else will be there so the views are all yours! The main trail around the top does get muddy, but I don't think it's too bad. In the Summer stick to the woodsy part where it's shady. The very top is great for seeing all the mountains in... More

This is a great place to just walk and wander and experience both wildlife and a few people. Some of the trails are challenging and others are a lot easier.

Powell Butte provides a quiet space for hiking, walking, biking, and vistas in East Portland. The trails start at the edge of the park, and go uphill through huge trees, to thinner trees, to grasslands at the top. On a clear day, you can see three volcanic mountains from the top. As other reviewers have said, there is construction underway,... More

Walking, running, biking, walking the dog or whatever you want. If you walk your dog and you bother to pick up after them carry your plastic bag out. Dogs are safest on leash because of brave coyotes. Great photo ops any direction you turn.

This is a great place for mountain biking! Open trails for the beginner and trails that wind up and down through the trees for the more advanced.

A nice view of the city from the Eastside of the Willamette River with picnic areas and dog walking trails. A lot of the people who work on the eastside pack and lunch and go there on their lunch break.

Great views of mountains around Portland. Good hiking, except for the water storage construction going on right now.
