Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a poor excuse for a university. Having gone to college and graduated with degrees in business (B.S and M.S) prior to enrolling at PSU for a second bachelor’s, I have plenty of experience in course formats and workloads. PSU is an indoctrination factory masquerading as a public university. Given the recent event regarding the ‘activists’ taking over the school library, PSU has no one to blame but themselves. The way they did a shocked pikachu is laughable considering this is the expected outcome of their university’s teachings. Their incessant pandering to radicalised ideations is not worth the money they expect students to spend on such mid-tier ‘education’, and the rising of tuition and fees yearly is unjustified. They do not offer tuition-locks that other universities do, and their scholarship offerings are mediocre at best and widely available unavailable to the student body they claim to support (non-traditional working adults). I do not recommend this school for young people or working adults, as there are much better schools out there with higher standards and offerings.

A lot of the staff and professors that work and teach here are trying to indoctrinate instead of educate. They don't like freedom of speech or anyone who disagrees with them. If you disagree or have a different opinion they will automatically label you a racist, sexist, bigot, etc. The "woke" culture here is extremely toxic and can even turn violent in some situations. This place isn't a university, it's an echo chamber.

I can only speak to the university as one who attended the 2019 North American Taiko Converence. It was hosted here and they provided great classrooms and a spacious auditorium for conducting numerous workshops. I noted that the campus was maintained well and with lots of trees along the park blocks leading to the university it made the conference and our stay very pleasant. I am glad that these facilities were available for our use.

The campus has changed since the Class of 1974 graduated. Beautiful buildings populate the blocks yet with the pedestrian firmly in mind. PSU has it all. Stop by the bookstore to pick up a tee shirt or a hoodie. Walk down memory lane if so inclined.

This is an urban college campus in downtown Portland. Very well maintained and accessible . The library was very impressive and the overall campus is very diverse. Very nice eating area, with lots of on campus and near campus places to have about any kind of food you seek, The easy access to the building was a big plus as well. Very enjoyable day.

Although not the largest State University in Oregon, the campus is downtown, close to everything. You'll visit friends, family or just walk among the beautiful tree lined streets and campus. It's especially beautiful in the Fall when the leaves put on their annual display of beautiful Autumn colors. So whether you're enrolled as a student or just visiting the campus, enjoy the walk among natures natural, gorgeous trees, small "foodie stops" for a bite to eat, feed the squirrels or listen to the many birds waiting for crumbs of bread. Enjoy!!

I spent time attending Portland State college. The tree lined central campus was always very special, during all the seasons, lending the natural world's grace to a city environment. An interesting place to be, with older buildings and newer ones, with a very diverse student body. I studied music and the arts, and enjoyed easy access to other venues, restaurants and vibrant city life while living right on campus. My experience was safe as well. I attended school there years ago, but have no other options for dates that I visited, except for the ones trip adviser allows. I have visited recently though and found it much as it was earlier in my life.

The rec center occupies most of a building at SW 6th and Montgomery. Bus lines and streetcar lines converge a block away, making the commute a snap. A big Olympic-sized lap pool, with relaxing hot tub, is on one floor, and above it is a floor and mezzanine full of exercise and cardio machines, free weights, a climbing gym, and mat space, plus a couple of basketball courts and a running track. Very well laid out. Extensive locker space and showers. Not to mention, a pretty good view of Mount Hood, looking east from the big windows.

This elaborate setup is geared for the many students of this Pacific Rim institution, who get access to it as part of their tuition, but it's also available to PSU alums for minimal monthly fees.

We stayed nearby and I got to say that I was impressed with the urban campus. They are doing a major gym renovation now that will be awesome and the school sits high on a hill above the greater city. It's a very short walk to downtown. PSU does a nice job of blending into the environment and if I were looking for an urban campus, this would definitely get on the list. In fact, I may suggest it to our son!
