this is a lovely drive from Prineville up to the reservoir. It winds along the river with lots of places to pull over and several little camp and picnic spots.

Lots of places to stop and have a picnic or go fishing, the views are never ending. Drive over the damn at the top and turn around and go back down, totally different views the other way!

Absolutely beautiful drive. We turned around at the reservoir. Later I heard we should have gone farther to get a view of it.

There may be some at the Bowman Museum, but I don't know for sure ... I'll check around and see what I can find.

You can but you would have to time your trip to a water release. The Crooked River flow is controlled by the local water district at Bowman Dam. If your looking for a good raft trip on a specific date try somewhere else but... More
