This is a nice 7 mile round trip hike. From the trailhead hike about 2 miles and you will see the rusting machinery from the Merten Mill. Another 0.2 miles, there will be a fork where you want to go right to cross the bridge...More

Because it is about 3 miles each way you need to allow a few hours to really enjoy the scenery. Remember to take a camera and enjoy the history of this old mining camp. The old vehicles and equipment are really interesting. The river is...More

This area is great for hiking. A nice easy trail that travels along the river and through the forest. Although I never made the full trip to Salt Flats, I really enjoyed the peacefulness of this area. The road in is a little rough and...More

Great for all skill levels, for beginners take the out and back version by staying on the road instead of crossing the bridge, and then heading out the same way afer exploring Jawbone Flats. Otherwise you have two options stay along the road, and meander...More

This area is absolutely beautiful. Great hiking, can go for a short hike or a longer hike. The water is just breathtakingly clear and gorgeous running through the forest and rocks.

This place is almost magical. The color of the water, the energy, all these make it a very special place. The hike is very nice and easy so even casual hikers can make the in and out hike.

I have grown up going to Opal Creek on the weekends, but in the recent years the rowdy crowds from Three Pools have found their way into the tranquil wilderness that is Opal Creek. There are few places left that you can wander in the...More
