this is a do what you want type park. It has a beautiful rose garden area cared for by local rose "experts" I will call them (not sure if even paid, maybe volunteers, but do a great job trimming etc.). so after a stroll, (and in bloom helps to make this a more time event) you can wander through the park... I spend much time in Bush's Pasture Park. It is a great place just to walk, to see the rose garden, the late1800's Bush Mansion, the trees and happy people having picnics. If you are in Salem, this park is a must see. Many special events are also held here, the Art fair is my favorite during July.

Bush park is one of the best parks I've seen anywhere in the country. I live nearby and I go for a walk or run several times per week. We also frequently take our grand children to play on one of two play grounds.

It was not too busy the day we went their was plenty of free parking, the trails were slushy and the grass was soaked but that is Oregon in the winter, Lots of trails lots too see you walk around the old houses ,there is a really nice playground, Lots of nice trees ,birds and shrubbery.

What a great place to have a picnic, play tennis, and jog. There is an upper level and a lower level - both with parking. You feel like you are out in the country, when, in fact, you are almost in downtown Salem.

Love walking through this huge park. You can get a nice, long walk by going all around the park and through it. Lots of access points with paved walkways, bathrooms, baseball diamond, a few tennis courts with lights, woodsy area, art barn, children's play area and lots of grassy areas and plenty of shade trees.

Some people go to the park just to jog but it has much more to offer. Two full play areas for children, flowers most of the year, an art gallery, and a base ball diamond. I primarily go to the park to take pictures. In the spring there is tulips, columbine, wisteria, and other early flowers. The purple wisteria vines... More
