The grounds are very nice to walk around - cross the street as well and look at the special blocks for each county. When the fountains are on - it's very refreshing. It's a treat to see so many flags - especially when there's a breeze. Inside the building is not as ornate as others I've seen but still nice.

I walked into the building with no plan, just random passing by and stopped. The grounds are beautiful in spring time with the cherry trees blooms, and saucer Magnolia trees (and the others I don't know) blooming, well kept grounds. There war memorial and circle of flags is fun and right there too, and a statue on the other side... More

This is a beautiful and grand building for such a humble state. Salem is often referred to as the towne 40-miles south of Portland, but it IZ our state Capital and where the state Capitol IZ located. Get a tour with friends to the gold man for great history of the building and fantastic views. Step into a hearing room... More

Being born in Salem and also working for the government, I have had the opportunity to enjoy the Capital and the Capital Mall area on a regular basis. The marble build is beautiful inside and still has cute character to it that boast of a time past. beautiful architecture and artwork, including a rock and mineral display of Oregon rocks... More

This beautiful and historic art-deco building is well worth the time to visit, whether wandering on your own or taking the free guided tour. We climbed the narrow circular interior staircase to the very top, trying hard to ignore a family with small unparented kids who were attempting to take us out on the metal somewhat scary stairwell, and followed... The Oregon Capitol is a must see attractions. Specifically, walk the finely manicured grounds and have a picnic. If possible, attend the tour of the Capitol rotunda, not for the person who is scared of heights or may not be able to walk up quite a few flights of stairs. You need to pay particular attention to the painting on... More

Our State Capital Building is beautiful...and a place you can take the whole family. It's especially gorgeous when all the trees are in bloom. They offer tours.
