Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Willamette University is more than just an institute of learning. This is a very worthwhile stop for anyone in Salem. The campus is very pretty, with a shallow creek running through it, many green spaces for such a small college, and good architecture. Stop by the Echoing Wall, where you can stand, talk, and hear your voice reverberate back. If you have the opportunity, eat at the cafeteria: the food is actually quite good.

The college does great things, too, by being very active in the community. That includes hosting incredible sports camps, performing community service, and providing entertainment with a renowned theater program. They have had many Oregon Professors of the Year and even possess the 3rd largest art Museum in Oregon (Hallie Ford Museum of Art). Willamette is truly outstanding.

Visited the campus multiple times. This is the most beautiful campus I've ever seen. The college hosts a number of events that are open to the public. Highly recommend a visit...

Has the feel of a much older university. Well thought out grid, not like a rabbits warren. Parking and tree lined strolls between buildings. Friendly students, workmen and administrators, every one seems to love it here. Going back for the museum and attractions around campus which is in the center of the city and a block or two from the capital.

Attended an alumni function welcoming the class of 2020!
It was a very meaningful ceremony and afterwards the class of 1970 lighted the candles of the class of 2020. The candles were then placed in the mill race - everyone watched as they floated down the mill race at dusk.

Outstanding visit! Loved the fresh food, friendly people, and variety of experiences. Gorgeous campus. Salem has a lot to offer in places to eat and outdoor activities. The music program far exceeded my expectations.

Willamette is a historic University and important for that if nothing else, but it also a most pleasant place to visit. Located directly across from the grounds of the Oregon State Capitol, it extends the park-like setting of the Capitol grounds -- with beautiful historic buildings, plenty of green space, and a lovely duck-filled creek running right through the heart of the campus. The cafe in the student center offers up very good food. In addition, the campus offers a variety of venues for both university and community based arts events.

Willamette University is the oldest university west of the Mississippi River. It's located on a large parcel of land in downtown Salem, across from the Capitol Building. Willamette offers a plethora of musical opportunities, with recitals, the Oregon Symphony, and the Salem Philharmonic playing on campus. There is an excellent bookstore, and an excellent cafeteria with whole foods and many vegetarian and vegan options. There is a lovely stream running through campus as well as a lovely garden and a huge grove of trees.

Willamette has a stream going through it and many ducks on campus, but it is still just another school. There is nothing interesting about it. Sorry for the blunt truth.

I love this university. It has great landscaping and learning environments. Small school with plenty of study space. Wish I could have attended.
