Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited here on the way up I5 towards Portland. Difficult park to get to. Nothing really to see here. I thought the globe and the bridge were cool, so I took a picture. Probably a good place for a picnic. That's about all I can say about it.

We made a short stop in Salem to visit the State Capitol and to stretch our legs. We made our way towards the river thru downtown (a few short blocks) and crossed over to the park. There is a cool-looking bridge, a globe and of course the historic carousel (which was closed when we were there). Attractive park just minutes from downtown.

This is a beautiful river front park in the heart of downtown Salem. Great wide walking paths the circle the entire park. We watched Bald Eagles fishing in the river, which was really amazing. The park has perfectly manicured grass and vegetation. They have benches and picnic tables as well as many mature shade trees to sit under.
For kids they have a beautiful carousel with hand sculpted animals. They often have popcorn, or hotdogs for sale near the carousel during summer months.
The park has a nice large play structure for kids, it is not shaded so surfaces can become very hot in the heat if the day during the summer.
The park also has many special events throughout the spring and summer that are always well organized.
During these events parking can be a challenge since they only offer two Somewhat small parking areas. Overflow parking is in the streets of downtown.
River Front park is also attached to Mintos Brown Park by a bridge, this park is primarily for nature lovers who prefer to walk on dirt paths.
Overall I think this is the best park in Salem and would recommend it to anyone visiting Salem.

The park is wonderful, but now with the pedestrian bridge it allows transients to set up homeless camps and they are not safe! Recently, a young woman was attacked at knife point near the pedestrian bridge.
I love the park, but its becoming unsafe.

Riverfront Park is wonderful! The most amazing addition to Salem is the Peter Courtney Bridge that links Riverfront Park to Minto Brown Park. Stop by the riverfront and enjoy access to a great kids park, water park, carousel and ice skating in the winter.
Take the bridge and the path over to Minto Brown and enjoy many, many trails....some along the Willamette River. Dogs are welcome on a leash and also there is a great dog park. You can also view hawks, cranes etc....in some of the wetlands and ponds.

The Willamette Queen is a great place to have a dinner cruise, river ride watching the abundant wild life, or as a friend have his wedding and reception. Great food a nice easy tour of the river and a nice way to enjoy the day.

This is a great park along the Willamette River in Salem, Oregon. In the park is a carousel house and gift shop. There is a large playground area for all the kids. There are lots of paths to stroll along. The park connects to a bike/pedestrian bridge across the river and on the other side is Wallace Marine park. They are now constructing another bike/pedestrian bridge across a slough that will connect with Minto park making for miles of paths to walk or bike on. There are always plenty of activities going on almost every weekend. It's hard not to have fun in this huge wonderful park.

Soft grass. Musicians playing. Families picnicking. The carousel was closed but you could see it through the windows, including the woodwork repairs

This park is just a nice place to relax. It is great for jogging, biking, or just a simple walk. It is also a pet friendly area.

After riding around in a car for most of the day, we checked into our hotel and had a light lunch. Then proceeded to the nearby riverfront park to get the blood flowing again. A wide walk way accommodates runners, walkers, cyclists and dogs. Salem is a dog friendly town and the riverfront was like a dog show with almost every breed in evidence.

Hi How accessible is this for two disabled women who will driving down from Newberg area for fish fest and cannot walk very far? Is the amphitheater far? Are bathrooms close? Thank you
Written 23 July 2019
Very accessible if you get there early enough to park at the park as all is flat and amphitheater is just open air lawn. If no parking there will have to walk a distance to get parking but all flat.
