Walking around the cemetery gives you a good sense of the history of this town. We read a lot of the grave markers, and enjoyed the trees giving us shade. Lots of flowers in the children's section.

We were expecting more unique monuments and gravestones but didn't really see as many as we thought would be here

We love walking around cemeteries; reading headstones and talking about the history of the area. This is a large cemetery on a bit of a hill, well maintained, just south of downtown.

If you like Old grave markers from bacxk to the late 1800's this the place for you. They come in all sizes and shapes. Several Famous people are layed to rest here.

It was like going to a park but even better. I felt at peace and it was a spiritual experience. I want to go back.

Beautiful grounds, and a variety of headstones. A lovely place to take a stroll, right in South Salem. No museum can hold a candle to a walk through the cemetery.

Admire mid-18th century tombstones and mausoleums in this park-like setting among old-growth native white oak, madrona and evergreen trees. You'll recognize many historic Salem family names, and be reminded that Salem once had a sizable Japanese-American community.
