This is part of the 10-mile long Deschutes River Trail, all flat/gravel bikeable. There is a couple-mile paved trail to trailhead from Sunriver (look for signs on north end of resort/map directing to "Benham Falls"). Or you can park at "East Benham Falls Trailhead" a...More

We hiked from the canoe pickup spot in Sunriver so our hike was longer than if you go to Lava Lands and pick up the trail there. It took us a little over an hour one way, but it led us to the Lava Lands...More

Easy walk to the Falls many people on bikes. Pretty setting. The Falls were more like a large rapid then a vertical fall but a nice experience

Hike the paved path which takes you almost all the way to the falls, and return on more scenic non-paved trail. Beautiful scenery and a great way to spend 3-4 hours. Just be careful on the paved section as bikers pass with out warning. Bikers,...More

paved almost the entire distance, dramatic steep falls/rapids at the end. Picnic tables scarce but present. Watch out for distracted bicyclists!

Nice stroll, a bit further from the east entrance. Better views from the east. But easy walking or mountainbiking

We did an early evening ride to the falls and it was very enjoyable. Still warm, but low sun and an easy bike ride on a paved trail until the bridge. After that it was a wide packed dirt trail... Still easy riding. The deals...More

Our family likes this hike on days that aren't too hot or too cold. Beautiful scenery as you glide along the Deschutes River. Start at either end of the trail and work your way back from whence you came.

We love this hike/bike ride. You can do either. The wild flowers at the river in the beginning are spectacular.

I would not recommend trying to visit the falls in the winter. The roads are not plowed for access to the falls. Years ago I tried and almost got stuck in the snow.

Mostly it's popular enough that people keep dogs leashed. In the offseason I often let him off.
