This is very interesting to see. The large dam the stretches across the Columbia river and the bridge in front. You will see blue heron, cormorants, seagulls and other birds on the shores and rock places. Nice wide open parking lot.

Excellent place to learn about salmon. The tour shows the ladders for the salmon. You get to observe how the salmon are rated.

It's worth stopping at the visitor centre if you're travelling down the Columbia River. An informative film provides a history of both the river and dam. There are also boards describing the other dams along the Columbia & Snake Rivers, how they are kept navigable...More

Just a Dam, nothing more or less, take a couple of minutes, you saw it, now move on. You could watch the water running from it, take pictures, but really nothing to it, look at it, spent a minute or two and move on.

Strong water flowing from the Dam, beautiful surrounding area, the river very calm down a way with a long train running by, gave a very nice scenery.

We stopped here on out way out of the Dalles and were glad we did. The view of the Dam was impressive and the interpretive center was interesting.
