Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here after the Bridal Veil Falls loop because it was way less crowded. It was one of the better stops we made along the route. Very lush area with the wonderful sound of rushing water. It was quite relaxing to just sit and rest for a bit when we got to the water falls area. Take a moment to look at the bridge too, it's a beautiful piece of architecture.

This is the second waterfall after Latourell Falls and the fourth stop on the Scenic Highway.
Blink and you'll miss it.
There is a tiny parking lot just after the Shepperd's Dell sign.
The waterfall drops in multiple tiers, but only the lower section (61 ft.) is really visible from the bridge. The upper portions of the waterfall are hidden back in the canyon, and are not very visible.
There is a set of stairs and a very mossy pathway going down to a little viewing platform.
The waterfall was uncrowded on a day when Multinomah was mobbed--it is well worth a visit, even if only for fifteen minutes.
There is also a historic bridge at the site which photographs beautifully.

It is a beautiful place! You will only have to walk a very short distance and the trail is paved. Parking is limited but people are usually there for a short period of time.

This little secluded fall area is easy to drive right by, but a very satisfying stop, so keep on the lookout. There is a little bit of off-road parking just beyond the sign post at the end of the bridge and then a short, curving, paved trail slopes down and around to the tumbling stream falls hiding in the trees. The wildflowers were in bloom along the back wall just before the falls, an additional bit of delight.

This is a cool waterfall and hardly anyone stops to see it because it's tucked back off the roadway view. There's a short paved trail that leads you close up to the falls. Stop #3 on the scenic highway falls tour.

Shepperd's Dell is a beautiful stop to break up your drive along the Colombia River Highway. It is well marked and right off the highway. There is a short and easy trail that dips down from the road - and leads to a beautiful waterfall.

Shepperd's Dell is probably a bit less well known than Multnomah Falls, but is a very beautiful waterfall. You can pull off the highway to hike up to and take photos at the falls. Parking however is very limited. The walk to the falls is very doable. You can get very close to the falls and it provides a great backdrop for photos.

This was our second waterfall stop while driving down Highway 30. The trail is still closed, but you can still view from the bridge only a few steps from the parking lot. Even though trail is closed, it’s worth the time.

The walk to the falls was the highlight of visiting Shepperd's Dell. The short and easy path is carved from the cliff with an old, moss-covered stonewall running along side it. We enjoyed seeing the falls and historic bridge through the foliage all along the way.
