Really loved the tour of the light house. Our guide was well informed with a personal connection. His enthusiasm was infectious and we learned a lot about local history. Went there on a beautiful sunny day and were in a very small group. We felt privileged to get this much access and attention. Don't miss the museum and gift shop,... More

Must visit, it is the only fresnel lens in the WORLD of its type. As a family of lighthouse lovers this one was amazing!! Our tour guide was friendly and informative. The only Oregon lighthouse with RED In is signature.

Great pit stop leaving Newport to wander the state park and locate the Umpqua lighthouse, it a typical lighthouse of the design you see up and down the west coast of the USA. Wonderful countryside and easily lose an hour or so.

Stopped here briefly for pictures of the view, a seaside cliff. During the right months, you can see whales migrating. The lighthouse is not on the cliff, it's across the street and fenced in. There is a small museum and you can take a tour of the lighthouse, but we didn't have time this trip

Roger, the guide, was wonderful. He allowed me more time to take pictures inside the lighthouse. The museum was very interesting.

I love lighthouses and we stopped to see as many as we could on our trip up the coast from the redwoods to Olympic National Park in Washington. This was our first Oregon lighthouse and it was so cute! I love the Western shoreline, it is so different from back East. Where we have tall towers on the beach, the... More

This was the first time I've ever gone to the top of a lighthouse. We got to see the Fresnel lens. I had just finished "The Light Between the Oceans" and it made the tour all the more interesting.

This is the prettiest lighthouse I have been to. The red & white panels in the lens make it so. I highly recommend a tour of the lighthouse. By doing this you get to see inside the lens. The nearby museum is also well worth a visit.

This is a great museum. The first floor has lots of nautical artifacts from around the area. The upstairs has four rooms that are replicas of coast guard barracks from different decades. Don't miss the wonderful tour of the lighthouse. You actually get to climb to the top and can take a look at the beautiful lens as it spins... More
