The shops at Eagles Mere are pretty typical; we found the bookstore well worth a long browse; but the museum connected visitors center was really well done.

We walked around the lake, canoed on the lake, browsed in the bookstore and learned in the museum. The old houses are beautiful and remind you of a bygone era.You are off the beaten path and there is limited cell service ( a plus). .

We did spend part of Father's Day there, and it was a pleasant enough visit, but there is really not much to do - even in the summer. I don't think that the previous reviewers mentioned this, but the very beautiful lake is privately owned...More

Not much to do here except for 2 events. The winter bobsled slide, and the summer arts fest.

We looked forward to touring this village -- but it was April, and nothing's open until May, which, as far as I could see, is not mentioned online. Disappointing.

Basically, a very good used book store and a surprisingly extensive museum about this little town anchor the "village". Given the lack of population density, it would be unrealistic to expect a ton more.

Hi, as a long time visitor to Eagles Mere I'd highly recommend spending two nights at either of the inns. Soak up the cute little town then head to the beach. Peak season is July to mid August, though the weather is really... More
