    Partying at Hollywood Casino
This casino is like vacation! It has great food, games, friendly knowledgeable staff, and good bands playing on weekends. You also meet so many friendly people, different races all over the country.

Great concert! Casino huge but not exciting.
We had a great time at the 3 Doors Down concert but before that we spent 45 minutes in the casino. This place is huge but most of the machines seemed older and didn’t have any of the newer exciting slots like they have in York. None of the machines we played payed more than a few cents with an occasional couple bucks paid. Would be interesting if they update from some of the older machines to new equipment!

low comps plus on screen buttons broken
When you try to enter your pin on the machine , any machine. you have to press the machine many times to get it to input correctly. it's horrible. they need all new screens. also my machine said slot not rating but customer service had no idea what that meant, then who would? geez. selection of machine is pretty good but the comps for what you are play are better in AC but thats further to go.

Getting a little better, still miss the restaurants
Starting to make a little bit of a come back. We used to go all the time before the pandemic. We still miss the restaurants, but we had not been there for a while and they are making some improvements. COVID really laid a beating on the casino, but staring to look a little better. We go on Saturdays for the bands. Nice to see Sapphire back on the stage.

This is definitely a larger casino than any in the Harrisburg area but not necessarily the best. Dining - I had a great meal at the Final Cut Steakhouse. Great service. People - very friendly and helpful staff Slots_Casino - many more machines than York or Shippensburg but the casino had an old and crowded feel. Entire casino was smoky. Only a fair mix of old versus new machines. Many older slots. Only a couple of my favorites like Pinball. No hand pay. Slots were tighter than the smaller local casinos but did have some smaller jackpots and some good line hits. Overall I had a better, more pleasant, more productive and smoke free visit to Shippensburg

I like going to a casino alone sometimes. Such was the case on this fine Tuesday afternoon. I brought with me $300 which is my standard bankroll - I consider it my entertainment fee. I never go expecting to win anything so there is zero pressure on me. I like the Hollywood Casino in Grantville because there is a nice variety of slot machines which are familiar to me and it's only 90 minutes from where I live now. It's located in a quiet rural area with no comparison to the hussle and bussle of Atlantic City which I used to frequent while living in NJ. There is a Holiday Inn right down the street about a minute away, in case you hit a lucky streak and don't want to drive home in the middle of the night. My favorite games at Hollywood always change, but currently they are Fire Link, Buffalo, Huff and More Puff, Piggie Banking, and I don't remember the names of a few others I like. Some of my previously favorite machines were not there anymore or maybe I just couldn't find them as they always move the machines. They moved a lot of slot machines out of the area to the left of the main entrance and replaced them with game tables. I don't know if they got rid of the slots that were there or just relocated them. There is a man on YouTube who goes by "Cowboy Slots" - he is a former slot tech and is well connected with casino administrators and seems to know what he's talking about so I watch his videos sometimes. He recommends that small bankrollers start on a low volatile machine to build up the bankroll, which is exactly what I did to test this theory. I was looking for the Double Diamond Deluxe, but that one was nowhere to be found. (I used to play that one all the time in AC). So I started on the 3-reel Flaming 7's $1 dollar machine. It took a while to find it, I had to walk the entire casino before discovering the old world 3-reel machines. There were only a handful of those. I selected 1 credit and put in $20 and immediately doubled it. Then with a few more hits I tripled my twenty. Cool I though! But I was there for entertainment and the 3 reel machine just didn't do it for me as I wanted a machine to do more razzle dazzle. So I moved on to the Buffalo machine which let me play on $20 for a long time followed by the Fire Link machine - wow, talk about fun! I take my time, take a sip of my coke, spin, smile if I hit, people watch (some people are clearly not there to just have fun), then spin again, just having an overall nice time playing by myself. I also played the Huff and Puff machine which gave me a $331.25 profit, don't even know how, which I immediately, if not sooner, put away from harms way, and for the rest of the time I played with what I brought to the casino. Overall, my $300 bankroll let me have fun for hours and hours. I went home with a profit of $31.25 which I used on my way home at Sheetz to buy myself a huge chicken sandwich with all kinds of toppings, and fried mac & cheese nuggets, some potato chips and candy bar. Okay, never again... Anyway, this style of casino fun is pretty much the norm for me when I go to the Hollywood Casino in Grantville. I never make much profit, mostly come out even, and seldom loose it all, though that happened a few times which was okay too. But always, no matter the outcome, I get to play all day, or all night on my $300 bankroll and have lots of fun. I never leave feeling disappointed. Nice and easy and slow is the name of my play style. So have fun everyone!

Hollywood shuts down any payout to amounts under max bet. I'm on a machine with $50 in, best hit was $1.62 and no bonus feature. Someone sits down on a machine next to me, playing max bet, and hits within one minute of playing. This has happened numerous times before. Guaranteed they are paying under what the minimum guideline is. If people from Vegas came here, they'd laugh and would ask, "Is this your payout to your customers." They'd wonder how the place even attracts anyone. Thank the Lord for sports betting. Only good in the entire establishment

They do a great job of bringing in good music/bands, the prices are not outrageous compared to AC casinos, plenty of slot machines and the Sportsbook restaurant has a very good menu and is a very fun, sports-themed atmosphere (great TVs).

To the vile man that was wandering around in all the non-smoking sections Saturday with an ashtray, and planting himself down and lighting up, you certainly know what a cigarette with a circle around it and a line thru it means on the machine. You’re not fooling anyone by taking your ashtray with you to these areas.

The casino has done enough to pander to smokers, but they consistently abuse their privileges. So you want to play the trains in non-smoking, and you can’t go 15 minutes without a cigarette? So you’d rather spread your cancer around than abstain in an area you KNOW doesn’t allow it. And the casino puts the public in a position to confront these people themselves. I had to. I’m in a non-smoking section getting smoke blown in my face. People have written about this before. Enforce it! It’s just blatant narcisstic behavior.

My 81 yr oldfather and I were held in the security office, after being mistakenly identified for two men who were handing out some type of pamphlets (they wouldn’t tell us what kind). After they conceded to making a mistake, they offered us no comps for our trouble.

This would probably be a really nice Casino if the food was better and there was some excitement and they treated already existing slot players with any kind of respect they offer you $10 to come out even if you're an elite player no slot host for the last year so I have been going to Mohegan Sun in the Poconos

Surprised anyone goes back there. Loyalty program (Penn Play) is terrible. Sat there for 2+ hours playing $30 / hand at BJ and accumulated approx 80 cents of comp.

Pays low percentage according to states setting. Does not give you a good return. Smoking is terrible and should be stopped.

The machines paying very low amounts and barely any free games. Everyone at casino always complaining including myself that this place doesnt pay anymore and they are sick of this casino. It was quite sickening to hear Christmas music, while seeing the depression on players faces because your pay outs SUCK! Something has to be done! This has to change! Machines are paying nothing like they use to when they first opened for the first few years. Now the place is pathetic and I will continue to spread the word everywhere!
