The fire museum is interesting for all ages. A dedicated group of volunteers has preserved and displayed artifacts from years of fire fighting. Besides the equipment, you can go upstairs to see where the firemen lived while on duty.

If you like history and museums, you could easily spend an hour or two here checking everything out! We've been here more than once now with our children and they really enjoy the well thought out/made displays! The horses are so realistic and any kid who loves fire trucks, will LOVE the fire truck part of the museum! Be sure... More

What a cool little museum tucked in to midtown Harrisburg. The staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable. They explained the history of the building and exhibits. The place has some working pieces of equipment that kids (big and small) will love. It was a much better experience than I had expected.

As a member and one that is a fire buff, this is a great place to visit and see not only fire trucks, but also learn about the history of the fire service and equipment. The equipment on display gives you a look at how things have changed over the years.

I had a great visit here with some 2nd graders I know! The guide was excellent. We learned so much about the fire company and city history. There was a very good scavenger hunt for children to really explore the displays. The room made available for us for our "picnic" lunch was quite suitable for children. Gift shop good for... More

From the beginning of fire fighting. This educational station is interesting and unique. The old style fire suits up from the olden days. It's heritage and skills of teaching children what to do in case of a fire.

This place is a labor of love. Run by volunteers who are retired firefighters, it is housed in a beautifully restored Victorian era firehouse and gives a good history of fire fighting in Pennsylvania.

1st class building and great exhibits. Several gorgeous old pieces of fire fighting equipment on display including an old trucks, horse drawn pumpers, and a hand drawn hose reel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Not a Smithsonian so don't drive cross country to get there but if you are within a few hours drive, you should definitely make the... More
