We spent about two hours at this museum. It was well laid out, filled with interesting artifacts, and detailed enough to provide information on the various stages of the war without going overboard.

Stopped into the museum to kill time waiting for delayed flight out of Harrisburg. I was not aware of the museum and pleasantly surprised with the quality of the experience. This is a very good stop for families and anyone looking to learn more about the war. Very good arms displays. If you're headed to Gettysburg this is a good... More

We've been to many civil war museums and battle sites over the years but this place is special. There are items here that are surprising even to the most astute history students. Presents a balanced view of both sides. If you have an interest in that era in American history this is a must see place. Be prepared, to get... More

My boys and I went to the museum as they really enjoy history museums. This museum is not a big as some we have been to but the exhibits were well done and very informative. It is definitely worth a visit if you are going to be in the area.

I toured the museum with my wife and adult children. I didn't expect to but, we spent over two hours going through this beautiful building. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Well done to the curators and the people who contributed to this well put together walk through our history.

We had no idea this museum was so spectacular. The exhibits, tapes and videos were unbelievable. If you can, bring your children or grandchildren here. No kids, go yourself. Very informed docents. The view over the city is beautiful and wide-spread.

We had heard of the National Civil War Museum when it first opened but could not visit until this year. It is built on the highest point in Harrisburg and has commanding views all around. This may be the finest museum that I have visited. I has very nice displays that are easily viewed and easy to understand. I liked... More

This museum is well worth a visit. The location is fabulous You are on top of a hill in Reservoir Park with 360 degree views over Harrisburg. The museum gives you the complete history of the Civil War from the perspective of the Union and the Confederacy. The displays are spread out over two levels with many interactive aspects.

This was the last place we visited on our USA holiday. Being very interested in the Civil War, this visit was at the top of our list. We were no disappointed. The introductory film and cyclorama set the scene for the rest of the day. The museum told the story of the War in a well balanced way giving equal... More
