This was an amazing experience! The school is well organized and run very effectively. I appreciated that every day there was a clear lesson plan and homework and that everything built off of each other. I also loved the adventures in the afternoon to different local attractions and activities. It gave me an opportunity to practice my Spanish. San Juan... More

My son and I spent 2 weeks in SJDS. My son has had 1 year of high school Spanish and I have had 4 plus one year of college (several years ago). I was so impressed with Spanish Ya. Their method of teaching is extremely impressive. One on one teachers for 4 hours per day is amazing. The environment is... More

I spent three weeks, four hours daily and it was just great. My teacher, Dolores was fantastic. She found the right mix between grammar, discussions and other way to teach me Spanish in a way I sometimes was not even aware she was teaching me. The school is well organized, exercises are always readily available, the classroom is under a... More

Based on a strong recommendation from a colleague, I attended Spanish Ya for one week of Spanish instruction. Prior to attending Spanish Ya in San Juan del Sur, I had minimal formal Spanish training and I had been in Nicaragua for only six days. My Spanish abilities were basically non-existent. After one week of classes and some practice, I was... More

I really enjoyed my classes. My teacher Yorleny was funny and engaging. I will miss her! The lessons were challenging but fun. I liked the location of the school and activities: horses, beach, and jungle. Fun! Fun! However, I have decided that homestay is not for me. The family was very nice, the meals were ok, and the room was... More

After visiting four other Spanish schools in San Juan del Sur, my wife, two young daughters, and I selected Spanish Ya for a one week course. We all have varying levels of Spanish and had individual professors. The professors were knowledgeable and committed, inspiring all of us to master the material. We finished the week with greatly enhanced Spanish. We'll... More

I started my Central America Trip at this school to get a basic knowledge in Spanish. Didn't know any Spanish before... Had one month of 4 hours classes (monday to friday). Improved my Spanish really fast. Nice teachers, good atmosphere, nice "schooling system" and the prices are really good as well. I stayed with a family and the homestay and... More

I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when I signed up to learn Spanish at Spanish Ya, but I was certainly glad that I had chosen this school. The owner of the school and all of the teachers made it a truly memorable experience.

I know next to nothing about the Spanish language so Sylvia has her work cut out for her. The owner and all of the staff are really helpful and very patient.

I have attended three other Spanish Immersion schools in Merida Mexico, Antigua Guatemala and La Concepcion Nicaragua. My teacher Keyla was great. I speak Spanish at an intermediate level and I was quite happy with my week at this school. What really impressed me about this school was the amount of relevant work sheets they had available for the topics... More
