Really nice spot to meet local people. Loved it ! It’s just sad that it not recommend to swim over there, but I did it once and I’m still alive ;)

This beach is large, and nice and quiet where you are not bombarded by venders. Darker course sand that can get hot in places. Several bars and restaurants along it.

Not the cleanest beach - more backpackers and a party scene. for surf check out Playa Hermosa & Maderas in the area.. even swimming is nicer down in the Maderas to Playa Majagual areas.

Relaxed atmosphere, nice view. It‘s not the classic beach to hang out an entire day but it was easy for some hours.. especially the sunset was not that bad. Some nice restaurants around.

Gorgeous sheltered bay with plenty to see and do. Whether you watch the sunset from a bar or sit in the sand, it’s worth timing your visit to catch one.

The beach is ok but there is trash in many places and the crowd can be rowdy and drunk in the evening. Some may like this but it’s not for me. It is very close to nice restaurants though.

San Juan del Sur's beaches are always clean with lots of activity. A nice place for a swim but most people head for the many "private" beaches: Yankee, Coca, Madera etc.
