It's a good place to change the atmosphere from Leeds. I have been here 3 times in 3 seasons. Overall, they were all great. But I suggest going in spring around Easter that the sky is blue and sunny. The walk is nice and long that you can extend your walk to nearby places. For the first visit, I walked from Shipley to Ilkley (across the moors) which was incredible, tbh. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a quick getaway from Leeds!…

This has got to be undoubtedly one of the jewels in the Crown of God's Own Country. I am very fortunate to live just a mile away from the Majestic Cow and Calf Rocks and wake up in the morning and sit in my upstairs conservatory and marvel at the view. The moor is a lovely place to visit in all seasons be it a beautiful sunny blue sky Spring or Summer's day and even in Autumn and Winter, it makes for a lovely day for a walk. I must add, like the famous On Ilkla Moor Baht'at, you should always bring a hat in all seasons as it can be a bit breezy up on the rocks... You can walk off a nice pub lunch from the Cow and Calf Pub across the road and then when you're done walking, put your feet up in the marquee at the Cow and Calf Rock Cafe, which serves an array of beverages and food. You can sit in awe of the stunning views over Skipton, The Dales and of course beautiful Ilkley. So put a date in your diary and come and visit, you will not be sorry that you did, but you will if you don't.…
