Visited with my dad over the Easter weekend. Beautiful forest, with some wonderful ancient trees, even if the weather didn't keep up. I would recommend anyone heading there to head for Postern Hill Campsite when typing it into your sat nav, where there is plenty...More

Driving back from Hampshire, we took a detour to visit Savernake Forest, just to the South-East of Marlborough. Shame as we'd left it late in the day (it was getting dark), so we didn't have much time to explore! Trying to spot the Great Oak...More

This is our dogs weekend treat. Off lead walks in forest. We walk in the forest throughout the year. It’s a great way to see how the seasons change. Just wish other people would respect it and not litter or fly tip

Plenty of space for everyone and can seem quiet even when the car parking is busy. Loads of different paths and tracks to follow - some muddier than others!

A lovely quiet place to let the dogs run, but there are some sheep in a few small fields and quite a lot of wild deer, so if your dog is a chaser, keep it on a lead or you'll be running lots!

Great place for tree lovers, and admirers of ancient and veteran trees, of which there are lots. Lots of rides and hard paths, largely flat walking/cycling. Car parks get busy at weekends.

We often come for a walk through this wonderful forest when we stay with relatives that live very close by, easy to follow footpaths and plenty of small car parks.

Within walking distance of Marlborough, via a track behind the BP garage, it’s just an amazing experience to walk through the only privately owned forest in England and where King Henry the VIII met Jane Seymour, his future wife, well one of them. There are...More
