Hubby and I really enjoyed our recent visit to Great Chalfield Manor; we love the hands-on approach here - no stuffy rooms where nothing must be touched. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable - very interesting and fun visit.

Well worth a visit very picturesque. One of the very few places I have visited with a mature Medlar fruit tree in the garden. Parking limited but very nice

Wonderful house with lots of historical rooms open to the public, including a great hall! Lovely gardens and a little chapel. Tours available, which are very interesting. Another gem in Wiltshire.

Visited with family, including my twin 19 month old toddlers. We didn’t have too much trouble getting the double buggy around but did have to be careful in places. There were also some bits with a few steps that we didn’t try. Didn’t go inside...More

Great Chalfield Manor deserves its initial name association. The National Trust keeps it magnificently both in and out as a prime example of period architecture and trappings. In taking the tour, we were advised that photos were not allowed at the time. Such prohibitions in...More

You can also get a map for 50p from the Courts garden - but although they tell you it’s a mile it’s actually 1.75 miles and not suitable for disabled access.
