Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

very busy with plenty to see and do. antiques at varying prices with a good choice. a couple of people were onsite which made good trading ( discounted when showing interest). on the day we went there was a craft/collectors fayre on which ha different items again. the only negative was that there is only one place to eat and it is quite small. we went at the busy time and we had nowhere to sit so we had to return after wandering around, the food is freshly prepared so a bit of a delay.. the food was generously portioned and very hot. allergens were listed. all in all a good way to spend 2 or 3 hours

The structure appears to be different numbered display areas presumably for individual sellers, but this did seem to mean that similar items were not always displayed adjacent to each other - although I appreciate that this is purely a personal preference. There is undoubtedly a lot of sale items to consider so a serious antiques buff will need some time to complete a visit

Firstly to a comment left by a previous visitor to Elscar Antique Centre, imagine if everyone took dogs, things are breakable, maybe you want people to tell you how wonderful your dogs are, take them to the park or better still leave them at home, walking around with two or three ponsey looking dogs , pretending your aristocracy, not a good look in Barnsley darlings, now to the Centre, its really not a place to buy if your looking for a bargain, not a place to buy and try to make a profit, these dealers have google lens every item to price accordingly, they have researched everthing, for genuine lovers of antiques, there is a good selection of pretty antiques, that will make great gifts, if you like it and you have the money treat yourself, as for reproductions i saw few, its a nice place to visit with a friendly staff, who are ready to oblige if you wish to view items in their cabinets.

We enjoyed the visit and will need to go back as there was not enough time to explore everything. All the people we spoke to were friendly and informative. With current restrictions it was not too busy. We have a similar place local to us and find that you need to go a number of times as you miss things. We will certainly be going back. The place is well laid out with a number of adjoining shops surrounding the centre.

A good place to spend a couple of hours. Some antiques, collectibles and bits and bobs. Always seem to leave with something.

Sunday trip to the Craft Fair.Arrived early hoping to miss the expected crowds. Weather not great, windy and cold with drizzly rain. Found some good stalls with well made Birthday cards. Went for a coffee in the small cafe, drinks ok but disappointing scones, think they were yesterdays as very hard and mine had only 2 currants in! Finished off with a look round the Antiques centre well worth a visit but maybe not on Sunday as very crowded.

Always enjoy spending an hour or two browsing around this antique centre. A little disappointing on my most recent visit, as there didn't seem to be much which appealed to me. In fact, managed to leave without spending anything - a rare thing!! Will visit again, despite this.

Very disappointing.Round trip of 120 miles.Weren't allowed in because we had our dog with us.The first time our retriever has been banned from an antiques centre.Owners not sympathetic.Told it was because of one incident a few years ago.A case of one precedent makes bad law.Dog owners beware

Dogs are not allowed in the antique centre but 3 small children running around and moving items from one room to another is. Could do with more food outletts or evan a decent resturant not everyone wants a cheap sandwich and a cold cup of tea.
