As avid NT members we had been looking forward to our visit to Osterley. Outside it's just what you'd expect of an Adam house - very pleasing and with a promise of grandeur. The trouble was that once inside, on the day we went there...More

On a sunny day with children I imagine the park is ok but today, in dull wet weather our experience was dire. The house is so dark ( to preserve wall hangings I expect) I could hardly see any detail. Very few rooms to visit,...More

It was good that there was a buggy to transport my aged father to the House from the car park and the House had much of interest by way of paintings in an elegant and airy House. The staff were both helpful and knowledgeable.

This is a lovely park - huge and spacious. There's a lovely pond with ducks and lots of space to go on your bike too. There's about a mile for walking and great spaces for family picnic. Parking spaces available although slightly expensive. Free parking...More

Park is a great place for family activity but I found the house a bit disappointing, only one level is open and the lighting is very dull. Nothing to wow about

At a loose end today, and being National Trust members we took a look at Osterley House. The intricate detail of the internal decoration, the design, the man hours of work that went into it, all shouted out the extreme wealth of the owner, which...More

Really hard to believe this is in London, the estate is quite big. The house is in fantastic condition and renovation work is taking place in a few rooms. The cafe is the usual national trust set up, it’s located in the stables and is...More

Good place to go, feed the ducks and nice cafe and shop. Downside - parking is expensive for short visit and entry fees in summer also very expensive.

Having visited on numerous occasions as a member of NT it was very overcrowded as admission was free to all mums! Will avoid next year on Mothers Day if NT offers free admission again!

The website says £7 for parking but it might be best to phone them +442082325050 to be sure. Also, they might then clarify the website.

Not that far as planes can be seen flying overhead at a low height. Heathrow is nearby as the crow or plane flies. So by car it takes longer, but it is worth the journey, and wont take long.
