The smells, sounds, and sights of this museum with a working mill demonstrating how tin was separated from the ores which surrounded it are unforgettably remarkable. Here you will find the last remaining examples of such equipment - as well as a Newcomen engine noose. The museum is undergoing a major uplift, and hopes to have a cafe soon. It... More

I thought it was over after I'd left the actual museum rooms and walked back to my van only for another guy come over and... More

We arrived with five visitors to the area after some difficulty in finding the museum. (Total 7 adults). There don't seem to be the usual signposts from main roads, despite the fact that the museum is supported by local authorities. The car parking was adequate on our visit, but may need some extension in future. It seems to be fairly... More

A Great find. We had a fabulous visit here today. The volunteers work really hard to ensure that you are looked after from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave! We took our puppy with us and the staff were very welcoming of her. We will definitely visit again. Cannot wait to see the new cafe! TWO Hampshire

We found out visit to the King Edward Mine Museum very interesting. This mine museum had been used by the Camborne School of Mines until relatively recently for the training of their students. The museum retains an variety of equipment that has been used over the years to extract metals from their ores and it was fascinating to see some... More

Don't forget to cross the road and visit the other part of the site behind the supermarket, as this is also historically interesting.

It was a bleak cold day when we visited the Museum but it was warm enough inside and the presentation we received was very informative. My husband was more interested in the various machinery than I was but I enjoyed finding out about mining in the past as my ancestors were Cornish Tin and Copper miners and my Great-Great-grandmother was... Visited on a beautiful day and the views from the mine were superb. The mine is easy to find but check opening times on the internet. The tour provided an insight into the sheer graft that was required to separate these minerals from the rock. The varied types of equipment to do this was an eye opener. It really showed the...
