Thought I'd found a piece of heaven when I bought a caravan at Liskey Hill holiday park, salesman was great.....until they got your money, then it went downhill. It was lovely at first until Vale decided to change things with no care or consultation with owners. They took away the shop as well as the games room, hardly cut the grass
I had a lot of problems with the caravan after I'd bought it and cost me a small fortune to put things right as Vale weren't interested.
The mud outside the caravan was treacherous at times when it rained, people slipping over, car slidding everywhere, again Vale did nothing after many complaints about it., doesn't seem to be any health and safety regs adhered to.There were a few staff members like Lee who would do anything to help, the rest were hardly anywhere to be found with the office shut more than open.
New caravans constantly being bought in and left for weeks on the roadside, blocking guests views of the sea which is not what they pay for! Site manager was of no use, hardly around and the salesman /handyman was always busy.....doing nothing! When I sold up, they delayed payment and overcharged for the electric per unit used, so I don't recommend you buy a caravan here but it's nice for a holiday if you rent privately off owners and not through Vale or Hoseasons.Shame

Stayed at Liskey Hill Caravan park with family. There were 15 of us in 3 caravans which were rented privately from owners.
The one I stayed in was immaculate, the beds were comfortable and everything worked as it should. It had 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed and two singles in each of the other rooms. The living/kitchen area was large enough that all 15 of us were able to congregate and spend an evening eating and just being together.
I know from the others that their caravans were also immaculate. Infact we are talking about making it an annual event and would all happily stay here again.
I have read reviews that mention dogs barking and lots of noise from people shouting and smoking. I can honestly say that we experienced none of this at all. We only seen a couple of small dogs being walked in passing and never heard them at all. One of the children is terrified of dogs so we would definitely have known if they were barking.
Everyone we passed greeted us with a smile and a good morning/evening.
There is no pool or club house but we didn't need it as its only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Perranporth, along one street, and a further couple of minutes to the beach. It's a great location for visiting other areas too such as Newquay or Truro for instance. We arrived on the Friday and left on the Monday morning. As previously mentioned we all got together on the first night and after that we were out every night until late and on returning found the park to be quiet & peaceful so much so that we whispered goodnight to each other as each group went to their caravans and we even hushed the children up haha.

I had to go to my daughters Caravan with something I had belonging to her and it was dark and late but I felt safe walking from one end of the park to the other and back.

My daughters Caravan was closer to the road that has been mentioned yet none of them heard road noise.

Mine was closer to the top with lovely views and my Son and his family were in the middle and also had lovely views.

This isn't a holiday park it's simply a caravan park and it's a shame that people looking for a peaceful place to stay might be put off by some of the reviews.

Maybe try booking through the private owners rather than some of the company's who don't seem to care too much.

Admittedly we went at the end of season and in term time (albeit a weekend) and as I have said I would most definitely go back.

My partner booked us a 4 night stay at Liskey Hill for my birthday in Platinum caravan (best on the site) we arrived on Monday at about 1:30 and headed straight to reception to try and check in, we were told to go and walk into the town for a bit and that they would give us a ring when our caravan was ready. This gave us the impression that it wouldn’t be too long of a wait, at 3:15 we walked back up and bumped into the reception lady who claimed she was just about to give us a call to let us know it was ready (bare in mind check in is from 3pm so they were 15 mins late). We were given a key that said “Padstow 3” and were told that we were going to be in caravan number 3, so as you do we drove around the site looking for “Padstow 3” to which we realised wasn’t there. We went back to reception and explained that we were unsure of which caravan we’d be in as our key and what we were told didn’t match any of the caravans, the reception lady then walked us over and showed us a caravan which was called “Kenswick” not “Padstow 3” so the key hadn’t been updated as it was a new caravan. On our arrival we were disappointed to see that our caravan did not have the outside decking (you’d think we’d get decking for a platinum caravan and the price we paid) to which my boyfriend questioned and was told that the decking is only provided to private caravan owners. bare in mind he has stayed here 2 years ago with family in a platinum caravan which wasn’t a private caravan and they had decking. Once we arrived with the reception lady I opened the door and as I pulled it open a plastic rod had fallen off of the door as we opened it, the lady was very embarrassed and apologised and said that the handy man was going to be coming to site tomorrow so he would come and fix it then, as well as this the cleaner had left her cleaning product on the kitchen side! To which the lady also took away and apologised for. As if this wasn’t enough there were dirty child handprints all over the double doors and hand prints on the tv screen as it clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The coasters were filthy and had tea/ coffee stains on and crumbs. The other plastic part of the door had then also fallen off shortly after. Tried to connect our phones to the wifi which is advertised when you book and shortly realised it doesn’t even work. We then went to try and open our double doors which were locked and our key didn’t open them, so we questioned this at reception and were told that for safety purposes the double doors couldn’t be opened because we had no decking surrounding our caravan. Shortly after this the caravan opposite us had their double doors wide open, and they also didn’t have decking, therefore not adding up to the receptionist reason for the unavailability to open our double doors. Our bathroom has a really funny smell, sort of smells like a very distinctive sewage smell which we have had to buy an air freshener to try and get rid of the smell but it keeps coming back. There are also no bins in either of the bathrooms or the bedrooms, there is just 1 bin in the kitchen. This is fairly unhygienic as all bathrooms should have a bin in for sanitary products etc. Last but not least we were told, after complaining, that we should let reception know when we were heading out so that they could come and fix the plastic surround from our door and also clean the dirty hand prints. When asked we were told that we’d need to give them our key as they didn’t have a spare one and that if they had left by the time we got back then we should get our key out of a locker and we were given a very easy to crack password to retrieve our key when we’d returned later that day. This means that the site didn’t even have a spare key for our caravan so supposing we lost our key etc how would they expect us to get back inside? Above all of this they have reiterated that it is a new caravan and minus all of the negative things it is a lovely caravan and a really nice quiet site right at the top of Perranporth and a short walk from the shops and beach. However if you are looking for a hassle free stay and staff that actually show compassion I wouldn’t bother booking this. Save your money for elsewhere!

Please don’t rent out holiday caravans without decking and sufficient safe car parking, asking guests to park on muddy grass with no hardcore
Along with for sale stickers all over the windows, covering up any view you might have.

Guests come on holiday to try and enjoy the outdoor space
Not with windows been locked because of the sheer drop with no decking in place from the patio windows

Reception referred me to the t&cs
Wow
Also said they may have a van up by reception the following day with decking
I would not recommend this caravan park to guests,
however, the cute town and restaurants are very much worth a staycation.

Cornwall beautiful place
Although we headed home early.

Having done my research before booking I knew this site offered next to no amenities other than a laundrette and a reception though it does have an owners lounge ( for those who choose to own a caravan on the site) we booked this site as we'd purely use it as a base to explore a fraction of what cornwall has to offer. The caravan we had for the week was new ( has a for sale sign and asking price of 90k in the front window) the one time we had an issue ( electric tripped) a staff member was on hand and sorted it within a matter of a couple of minutes. Please note at the moment if your looking to venture further a field there is quite a bit of major road works going on so please allow extra travel time to such places as Newquay. Overall a lovely small site and would certainly recommend staying here as we found it ideally situated for all the places we visited, from lands end, to Falmouth, st ives, Penzance, Newquay.
From the site it's only a 10-15 minute walk into Perranporth, steep down hill walk going and a steep walk back up the hill from the town. In Perranporth itself there's a small selection of shops, chippys and a few bars / pubs. We never struggled with parking in the town even though it was the start of the summer holidays.

Liskey hill caravan park Perranporth- park has bbq which is very noisey late evening on till 11.30pm, van renters can't get any sleep, staff couldn't care a toss, had to ring a vale site rep to get it stopped, dogs are welcome on this site, yes because no one else wants to stay at this site, its a dog owners paradise, dogs barking at any hour of the day or night, the site is next to a very very noisey road, you won't get any sleep if your caravan is sited anywhere near that road.
We had a brand new platinum van, problem was it was sited within 25 feet of this noisey bbq with loud talking mindless morrons smoking, drinking to the early hours, swearing, fing and bing, shouting their heads off, impossible to get to sleep, we had enough of it after 3 days, packed up and went home.

Booked this last year as wanted to experience Cornwall, caravan park staff very friendly and helpful, we arrived much earlier than anticipated, due to lovely weather and wanting a day in the beach, staff allowed us to park by the van and called us when it was ready. Caravan was basic, but had all amenities needed for a week here, and you get what you pay for!
Beds were comfortable, privacy was fine, noise level was very peaceful and relaxing,
Wasn’t expecting a veranda-but we had one too!
Walking down to the beautiful beach was approx: 20mins, tricky getting back as uphill-but we enjoyed counting our steps.
View from our caravan was amazing-it brought a big happy smile to my face every morning.
Fortunate enough to have had the weather too-overall a great week here.

We have stayed here a number of times and on each occasion we have found the site to be clean, well looked after with 1st rate caravans.

Very friendly, helpful staff.

This year the lack of an onsite shop was a little surprising, but hay-ho there are 2 co-op shops with-in a 2 minute drive.

Clean well maintained site, 1st class caravan and friendly helpful staff.... what more could you ask for.

Lisky Hill is a terrible caravan site and should be condemned! Caravan was mouldy, smelt, filthy and was crawling with carpet bugs! We paid for a 3 night break which cost £300 via Hoseasons - we didn't even stay the night! I've never stayed in such a rund down place. No sea views as per pictures and the beach wasn't near as the pictures would have you believe. False advertising. I really wonder about the positive reviews on here??? I've been scammed out of £300 and DO NOT recommend anyone using this caravan park or booking through Hoseasons - I didn't expect such lack of customer care when raising a complaint, in stead have been fobbed off. Don't believe the pictures, they are very misleading and the caravans are dated, dirty and smelly. Save yourself from a holiday of hell. Actually I may contact the media to raise awareness.
