A must for any visiting golfer
Oct 2021
We drove from Port Issac to play and, boy, we were not disappointed. We usually play St. Enodoc, Trevose and The Point being close by our hotel but this trip introduced us to a lovely cliff and dunes course, something we were not anticipating.
Up, down, blind tees, strong winds and a great greeting by the Pro, reception and the bar staff.

This is a true, friendly members club that produces a good golf, true greens at a price that should make St. Enodoc and Trevose blush......we love both these latter courses but value for money you can't do better than Perranporth.

Views are brilliant so ensure you take a photo as you play......if the sun is shining and the wind is blowing it's a good test. as for the beer and pasties......well!

Fantastic holiday - great caravan in an amazing location
Aug 2021
We recently stayed in Caravan 8 on the golf course. We knew the caravan was going to be quite dated but are pleased to report that the stay exceeded our expectations. Yes, the upholstery and curtains were on the chintzy side but everything was well presented and immaculately clean and the shower powerful. It was a standard 4 berth caravan but our double bed was more comfortable than the one in the well known chain hotel we had stayed in en route to Perranporth.

We were greeted cheerfully and everything was well explained to us including how to walk down to the beach. The receptionist (sorry can't remember her name) is an asset to the club as she dealt with any issues (the only one being the battery going low in the carbon monoxide monitor) instantly, with a sense of humour.

The location of the site is amazing. It is quietly situated overlooking the coast. We walked up and down to the beach a couple of times a day - a fairly easy walk down but a bit of a climb back up. The view took away any tiredness from the walk though. We are keen runners so it was fantastic to run down to such a beautiful beach and back up through the dunes or through the amazing golf course. Our 13 year old son had surf lessons on 4 mornings with the Perranporth Surf school so it was easy to get him down there ready for his early lesson.

We enjoyed it so much that we booked whilst we were there for next year and have happily recommended it to many friends.

Surprised I am saying this but now I have reflected on it...Perranporth is well worth playing and I would love to have another go at her. It is tough as so many holes are blind but if you trust your shot and play to the the markers you would be fine.
The setting is fabulous, the welcome is warm and all around us were folk having a thoroughly good time

Bar staff are great... pasties and excellent ales top it all off...

A brilliant holiday in clean, tidy and well equipped caravan. Great comms before arrival, great value ans great location. We barely got in the car. Each day we walked down to the beach (about 15 mins) and back up. Slightly longer on way back as quite steep but saved the time and money on paid for parking.
Would highly recommend

Been coming for many ,many years, our lovely oasis !!
It’s just such a shame that now it’s becoming widely advertised but understandable if it’s to survive.
It has lost much of it’s charm because there are more people and so less personal but the staff are still friendly and caring.
The golf course is a challenge but the views are well worth the effort.
I hope to continue albeit on my own until I can no longer climb or hit a golf 🏈.Thank you Perranporth.

Family stay in a Lodge in middle of the course , very peaceful location- lodge was very comfortable and well equipped . The golf course is pure links , a tough test with numerous blind shots and very rugged - it’s fantastic!
Buy a course planner , it’s the best £3.99 you will spend on golf .
Everything was really well organised and communication was great from the initial enquiry through to booking tee times for the week.
Comfortable club house with friendly service.
Plenty to do for non golfers in the local area - a really lovely break .

Stayed in one of the Lodges which are a step up from the Caravans. 4 middle aged male golfers and the Lodge allows you to have a room each if you use the Bed Settee in the Lounge. The Lodge had everything we could want, and a bit more with nice touches like Tea, Coffee, washing up equipment etc. The guys at the club have been amazing all the way through this very tortuous booking as it was initially booked in the summer of 2019. Emma particularly needs a massive thank you as she had to put up with at least 2 COVID related postponements before we finally made it.
Only slight downside is the lack of catering at the club currently but they are working on it. A great Breakfast can be had at the Garden centre just up the Road. It’s an easy 15/20 minute walk into town, and a bit longer coming back as it’s all uphill - a bit of a challenge navigating across the course in the dark, but easy enough if you take it slowly.
And then there is the course- my absolute must play every few years as it’s just so quirky. No flat lies, blind shots a plenty, dunes, wild grass scrub, lightening fast greens and views to die for. A total gem!
We will definitely be back once my knees have recovered in a couple of years

What a golf course!
Perched on the hillside above Perranporth beach the views are stunning
The course is immaculate but pretty hard going (I’m not a great golfer I hasten to add!)
Very challenging
No trees or water and not many bunkers but narrow, lots of rough, not many complete fairways and lots of blind approaches
Terrain is pretty challenging too
Greens are great but undulating and fast as hell
Loved every minute of it but I was ready for a pint afterwards!!
