Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An enormous celtic cross atop a rocky outcrop near an old castle - what's not to like? Sadly the gate to the stairs uo the inside is locked and looks to have been so for a very long time. Dedicated to the memory of a nobleman from the area.

Particularly nice at sunset.

Lovely spot to walk up to and you can see for miles. St Ives in the distance. Could sit there for hours drinking in the views. Huge stones with great picture opportunity

The size of this place is big. It can be seen from miles away. It is bigger and cleaner up close. Worth visit.

I live fairly close to Carn Brea monument and Castle, amazing seasonal views throughout the year. Take walking shoes and a nice picnic. Great place to star gaze. Must walk or cycle the great flat lode to. So much history in this area and some of the most beautiful coastline. I love where I live so much I bought a holiday let in the same road I live in, for others to enjoy through the year. Give this area a try, it’s very central, close to towns, beaches and historical interests. Make sure you book a evening meal at the Castle, but beware it’s cash only payments.

We only had one chance to visit as we were passing and just our luck, it was low cloud!!
Huge monument with loads of large boulders scattered around. Not too far away is Carn Brea Castle which is now a restaurant. Oddly built into the rocks.
Well worth a look but do pick a nice day. If driving up to the monument take it easy as the road is not the best and we grounded the car several times.

This monument can be seen for miles and miles, but it's not until you get up close that you realise this monument is colossal

It was erected in memory of Francis Bassett. The monument stands high on the ridge, which is littered with large boulders.

Interesting architectural and topography combine with the natural landscape. The castle at the opposite end is built in and around the weather worn boulders.
