    Hidden Gem
We visited the sanctuary over the Easter Bank Holiday, and I'm really glad that we did. The sanctuary itself is very small, so you wouldn't be able to spend the whole day there. The animals are very well loved and cared for. The highlight of our trip was the animal show - we were able to handle and interact with some of the residents. My son loved it, as did I. The staff were brilliant, I would gladly visit again.
Thank you for your 4-star review! I'm delighted you found us to be a hidden gem during your Easter Bank Holiday visit. While our sanctuary may be small, I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the well-loved and cared-for animals, as well as the interactive animal show. It's wonderful that you and your son had a great time, and we appreciate your kind words about our team. We look forward to welcoming you back for another visit soon! - Toby @ Cove UK

    Animal experiences
My family and I (2 adults 2 teens) took part in the reptile rendezvous and the owl encounter . It was absolutely brilliant, worth every penny. Loved by all ages. Both members of staff, Mara with the reptiles and Jo with the owls, were so informative and happy to answer any question we had. Highly recommend and would definitely come again!

    Great experience
My children had a fantastic time doing the animal experience. They really enjoyed themselves and Josh was an absolute super star. Extremely knowledgeable, and great with the kids. Lots to see, and a really enjoyable few hours. Would highly recommend.

    Superb family experience
Fantastic place! Amazing animals/birds and the staff, in particular, Jo was so helpful and knowledgable, and took us on an awesome woodland walk and gave a brilliant indoor animal show which we loved. We live locally and will definitely be going regularly. Highly recommend!

Magical evening with animals and dinner
How do people not know about the facilities here which anyone can book? We spent a magical evening having a great dinner in a tent, then feeding porcupines, holding fluffy bunny babies, stroking snakes and chameleons before flying owls to each other in the barn. The kids were so happy, Grandma loved it, and it was incredible value for money. Sarah Jane and Maia (?) went out of their way to make us feel welcome, they were so knowledgeable about all the animals and gave us an incredible night to remember.

Fantastic experience on the "meet the animals" session. My boys age 2 and 4 absolutely loved it. And Matt who led it was absolutely brilliant, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, clearly loves the animals but most of all he was totally fab with my kids - my 2y old wanted to touch and hold everything just like his big brother and Matt really supported him in doing this. We got to feed goats, see the emu, stroke the reindeer, see stoats, rats, ferrets, hold a snake and a mouse, feed a fox and "catch" sly the barn owl. Such a great experience for my children.

It seemed very expensive for a 1.5hour session (£80 for 4 adults and 2 children), but it was definitely worth it. We were lucky enough not to have anyone else in our group so it was a private tour.

Kids got a certificate at the end which was a lovely memento to take home.

As a family of 4 adults and 2 young children, we each had a great time at the ‘meet the animals’ session. The children enjoyed feeding the goats and the adults faced their fears holding snakes! Meeting the foxes was a particular highlight. Matt was very informative, friendly & great with the little ones and did not rush anyone’s time with each creature.

This was an excellent wildlife walk for our family. Gary showed us life in the pond, the field, the wood and the sanctuary from baby newts to slow worms to foxes. He showed real commitment to the work they are doing and enthralled both kids and adults.

We stayed on site at Gwel An Mor and decided to have a farm day; we started with the ‘forest breakfast’ where we were provided local bacon and eggs fresh from the chickens at the farm and 3 fires to cook on ourselves - everyone had fun making their own breakfast and it was delicious (if not a tad burnt in places).

We then went on to the animal encounters where we met and fed the goats, reindeer, reptiles, ferrets and owls. Jo looked after us and took us round all the animals and was brilliant with everyone young and old, very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the animals.

The animals and reptiles were all fascinating and being allowed to hold them was such a great experience for the kids (and adults tbh).

We then went on to feed Ruby the fox; both enrichment and direct feeding (safely).

After this we attended the bird show where owls and hawks swooped through the crowds (included in entry price).

A note, this is a small farm; but base camp (next door) has a phenomenal soft play and cafe; and the farm does plenty of scheduled ‘meet the animals’ and wildlife walks that make it easy to spend a bit more time here.

I’d recommend booking the experiences though; you get so much more from the direct experience and knowledge of the keepers.

We did the nature walk and woodland breakfast activities with a 3 and 6 year old. They really enjoyed both. Our guide said how badly they’d suffered due to Covid and they are quite limited in what they can do at moment as they are required to now get a zoo licence (because they have rescued foxes and reindeer etc, alongside chickens, goats etc). So in meantime they have had to adapt and can’t run as many activities. I’d really recommend this place to any one with kids, it was great to hunt for eggs in the hen house and then cook on a fire, and on our nature walk we saw lots of field mice, my daughter held a slow worm and we found newts and all kinds of things in the pond dip.

Feadon Farm I live only 5 miles away and glad my gran daughter and daughter invited me to come and see the animals , the group was small (12) with just adults and adults with children . We were given plenty of information about the animals , a lot of it was really fascinating and Wow the things I learnt ! There is ample opportunity to feed the animals and stroke them if you want . There was time to take photos and ask any questions and the host answered them . It was excellent , educational in a fun environment. My favourite time was seeing the reindeers Nadelek Lowen ( Merry ,Christmas) in Cornish . The farm tour time was 1 and a 1/2 hours but because the host was so enthusiastic we were lucky enough that we had over 2 hours worth every penny . So make the visit and book your tickets . I will be going back again and will be letting everyone I meet who are locally or on holiday to find time to visit .

What a fabulous experience. Falconry was our chosen event and our guide was Gary. When someone who is as passionate about wildlife as he is the experience becomes so much more. The 6 year old in the party is full of questions and the 2 year old held all the birds both left full of enthusiasm. Even managed all the outside sections in the dry !! And as for Harry the Hawk flying in woodland fabulous.

We stayed at Gwel an Mor and so booked a visit to Feadon Farm. We visited with two children aged 7 and 20 months. Our guide, Gary, was lovely, he was very informative and very welcoming. I didn’t expect my 20 month old to be able to take part in feeding/holding the animals (booked more for my 7 year old) but Gary was amazing. He involved her in every experience, making sure that she and the animals were safe. She was able to stroke all the animals and even held a barn owl. He explained how to approach/stroke/hold each animal to all the children and adults. The animals are very well looked after and is obvious in the way they trust Gary. It was good value for money and I do feel that they could charge more for the different experiences. Thank you for giving both my children a wonderful time.

My partner booked a wildlife experience a s meet the animals for a surprise birthday treat and what a treat it was.
First of we had a lively warm welcome from Gary who seems to have an endless knowledge and enthusiasm for animals and conservation.
Everyone we came into contact there was so friendly, helpful and knowledgable and clearly had an absolute love of all the animals there, from the foxes, to reindeer!

We had the opportunity to feed and stroke the foxes. Personally this was the absolute highlight of the day. It made me grin from ear to ear. Watching the beautiful eagle owl was wonderful and especially when they let her land on your gloved hand!

Overall, if you even slightly like wildlife then just come to this place. The friendly atmosphere makes everyone welcome and it's such fun to get up close to all the animals who are clearly all well looked after and adored. I'm booking my return visit soon!!
Thanks to Gary, Matt and Kate for making the day so enjoyable.
