A Visit to the Movies and Supper
My wife and I visit the Regal Cinema in Redruth most Wednesdays and normally just go to watch a movie. However, as the movie we watched last week, the latest Mission Impossible film, finished quite late, we decided to stay for supper after the movie. As a consequence, we enjoyed the ambience of the newly refurbished restaurant and bar area which is now looking stylish and trendy. The menu is not extensive, pizzas, burgers and the specials board but it is good wholesome and tasty fare with friendly staff and a good range of beers and spirits. All in all, it is good value for money, especially with the Merlin concessions card, and is one of the few places in Redruth where one can enjoy an inexpensive, freshly cooked meal in pleasant surroundings. Plus the fact that is is open to everyone, even if you are not actually watching a movie. If you haven't been to watch a film since Gone with the Wind, I heartily recommend that you give the Regal a visit - you won't regret it.

    Excellent customer service
Went as part of a party of 4. 2 of which are disabled and vulnerable. Right from the booking phone call to the minute we left the cinema the customer service provided by the staff in the restaurant and cinema area was efficient, helpful, respectful and courteous. I cannot praise your customer service highly enough.

Fantastic cinema. Good pizzas in restaurant. Private boxes for a special night watching a live band on stage. Min 100 words required for a review is off putting.

Very obviously under bad management at the moment in the Redruth branch.
Saw an early Sunday showing of a popular feature. Had to ask the manager to turn down the volume which was extremely full on aggressively loud. This was done. However, the manager on duty ignored the overflowing bins outside the screening room. Overflowing with Friday and Saturday nights rubbish. The gents toilet were also pretty smelly. Won't be returning here any time soon.

We went to see a film, Only after collecting the tickets and buying snacks were we approached and told the children were not old enough to see the film, We were then given a refund minus the £3 booking fee, Granted it was our mistake to not check the age upon booking but this should have been challenged before snacks were purchased, now £10 out of pocket having seen nothing

Very sorry. When you came to the counter to collect your pre-booked tickets (two of which were free) and buy snacks the children were nowhere to be seen. Obviously the usher spotted that you were taking children into a violent horror film and that was when you were challenged. Glad we could refund tickets but not food or drink which had already been purchased and partially consumed. The age ratings are all clear online and, if you had attempted to purchase the four seats you would have seen that there was no child option. But the free tickets you used meant you bypassed this first barrier, and then collecting tickets without the children meant you bypassed the second barrier. Luckily the third one (our very alert ushers) spotted your mistake before your children were potentially very upset by seeing a film clearly unsuitable.

We are Merlin Movie Magic cardholders, and always enjoy the treat of a trip to the Regal. However, Monday evening 7 Nov was the exception ! Firstly, we realised we had paid £8.50 for a £6.00 two-for-one ticket. We intended to query this after the film. When it finished, around 10.30pm, we went quickly to the loo (Under 5mins), then went downstairs to the bar in darkness (Dangerous - spiral staircase) only to find all the doors locked ! This was an extremely scary experience for me as I suffer with anxiety,
which resulted in a serious panic-attack, involving breathing difficulties. During this upsetting experience, my friend attempted to gain the attention of any remaining staff, by banging on the inner door. We eventually managed to open the door ourselves, when two staff members appeared in response. Whilst I was composing myself in the toilet, my friend stayed with the staff-members, whose first question was if anyone else was still there. Upon hearing this response, they showed no concern at all for our well-being, nor was there any sign of an apology.

Even as they followed us out to the door, still no apology. Very disappointing experience with Merlin.

The £8.50 ticket is two for one off the standard tickets. Two standard tickets are normally £16. We don't have any standard tickets at £6. We did check the CCTV and it was a substantial amount of time that had passed before you exited. It was just this area that was no longer manned and there were other exits. I am sorry you didn't see these, they were right next to the toilets with an exit sign, you didn't need to venture down the spiral staircase. We are sorry, the management thought you might have been people that had snuck into the bar area and hid, as they mistakenly took your upset for being intoxicated. Lessons learnt.

We watched 'The bad guys', as an autism friendly showing and it was perfect for our little girl.
This is the first time ever taking our 6 year old to the cinema, as we were unsure how she would be... But she loved it. The lights stayed on, and she didn't have to stay seated. It's a lot more relaxed and perfect for children who wriggle or have short attention spans. The staff at the kiosk were welcoming and friendly.
We will definitely be back again!

For those who are unsure on the Autism Friendly showings, look for the symbol next to the film title... They do these showings on the 1sy Sunday of every month.
