This is a very well preserved Victorian market building. It has remained mostly in molested, and now houses a lot of independent traders. There are plaques up on the walls around the building telling you about the place. Something for everyone.
We had breakfast in the cafe of entrance to this market hall and while we were waiting for our food my teenage son 16 looked in the comic/figure shop opposite and purchased some that are hard to come by.
St Austell market house is worth a browse it is not full of the normal high street but an oldie ‘can I help’ smaller glass fronted shops you might call specialist from model planes to the 45 record you lost or never found.
Interesting market, it was busy when visited (Sunday morning). A big variety in the stalls available, I particularly enjoyed the fabric and haberdashery stall where the lady was very helpful and a large range of fabric and different items were on sale, reasonably priced.
