The best thing about this ferry is that it partly isolates relatively peaceful Torpoint from the mania of Plymouth. Going from Torpoint to Plymouth gives you seven minutes to steel yourself for the hustle and bustle; going from Plymouth to Torpoint gives you seven minutes to unwind a little. Most of the time it's faster and cheaper to use the... More

Excellent short cut to our destination, Freathy. Good customer service and you only pay one way, £1.50 from Cornwall back to Devon.

Used the Torpoint Ferry at least daily while staying at a holiday let and it certainly is more pleasant than just driving into Plymouth and Eastwards than going the Saltash route... which also attracts a toll at the Tamar Bridge!! The charges are £1.50 for a car / small van without trailer collected and payable from Torpoint to Pymouth -... More

On time, efficient and friendly crew. Very relaxing start to our visit to Cornwall. We always allow extra time for this unusual addition to our journey.

The ferry staff are helpful and just want to get there job done... living in Torpoint and having to use the ferry a lot isn't the best but it's a great service and interesting for people who haven't been on it.. just wish they would build a bridge instead of using this.. you could be 5mins early and still miss... This ferry is great but we were alarmed that we hadn't paid on the sail from Plymouth to Torpoint. Not wanting to dodge a fare we asked but told it was free leaving Plymouth but £1.50 for the return Torpoint to Plymouth. Short crossing & excellent service.

You either time it really well or have to wait for ages, sometimes hours! It only takes about 7 minutes on average to actually get over. Can be quite loud if you stand near the chains. Staff mainly friendly, just one dragon lady and a grumpy man. They like you to have the correct money if you do not have... More

Struggle to understand any of the positive comments on here. When the latest batch of ferries appeared we all assumed we were about to receive a fast, efficient and reliable service - NO !!!! Bigger ferries carry more vehicles - True - BUT - take much longer to unload/offload - No gain there !!!! Bigger ferries can go faster -... More
