This is a lovely walk that is at the most easterly point of Australia. Taking international guests here was a highlight for them as pods of dolphins appeared regularly

We got great advice from our hostel to start the walk about 1.5 hours before the sun sets and to walk up the "road side" to the lighthouse and then while the sun is setting walk down the stairs/path. The views for the whole walk are amazing. We saw lots of surfing as well and were able to spot some... More

Great views along this beautiful walking trail along to the lighthouse. They often say the journey is better than the destination and though the lighthouse is lovely, the saying definitely holds true in this case. We walked the trail on a very hot day, in the middle of the day, in summer....I would not recommend this - perhaps doing the... More

Bring lots of water as it's fairly long! You get some real good views on the way too the light house, then a nice walk though the rainforest, took us about an hour and a half

Really nice walk, I was here around Autumn so was raining during the walk which didn't make it very pleasant. Wear comfy shoes, there's a trail and stairs. Can walk from the city centre all the way here. Can also walk along the beach. Takes a couple of hours

We did early morning hike to lighthouse because of extreme heat and humidity. Walk path next to main beach, then up hill past million dollar mansions, past two gorgeous smaller beaches, and then around coast to lighthouse. A little confusing at times as track interrupted by car parks, beaches etc but friendly locals offered help on several occasions. Make sure... More

The Cape Byron Lighthouse walk from CBD is a must, the Views along Clarkes & Watego Beaches were fantastic from the walking trail and Captain Cook Lookout. Once at the lighthouse you are in touch with the most Easterly point in Australia. Spectacular views and fitness at the same time, great experience. Well worth the effort.

Definitely a must in Byron Bay. The path has versatile surroundings, beautiful sights and it is good for both walking and running. It's also totally doable in flip flops. There is a cafe at the lighthouse, toilets and a water point to refill your water bottles.
