A fabulous centre to visit while you are in Dorrigo. We took the time to do the Wonga Walk circuit through the waterfalls which was well worth the effort. The Skywalk has great views over the ranges and the cafe here also provided a lovely lunch, with great food options and comfortable seating.

We first came here around 23 years ago and we're interest to see it again as we were in the area.
It's well worth a visit.
There's walks of different lengths and difficulty to choose from. We started with the short sky walk, then moved on to the longer (2+km) walk to the picnic ground and back. While not too difficult, there are some hills to go up and down. There's a couple of places to sit along the way. It's mostly peaceful walking through the rainforest. We heard and saw lots of birdlife.
The path is firm and easy to walk on.
Make sure you detour along the bird trail - it's a raised boardwalk through the canopy, with information about birdlife along the way.
The longest walk available was a 6.6km track.
Back at the rainforest centre we stopped at the Canopy Cafe for refreshments (2 kombucha on tap), and rested before we set out for Dorrigo.
Allow yourself 1-3 hours depending on which walk you plan to do.
Highly recommend this attraction.

The main reason for turning off the Pacific highway from Brisbane to Sydney was to drive up to Dorrigo and to visit, among other places the Rainforest Centre there. I'm really glad that I did.

I arrived here early one morning, midweek and found the place to be practically empty. I parked in the extensive free car park and made the short way to the Rainforest Centre. This is quite a modern building, entry into which is free but the princely sum of 2,00 AUD is politely requested. Cheap at half the price when you consider the marvels beyond.

Anyway I didn't hang about much in the shop area but found myself drawn to the fantastic skywalk. This is certainly not for those suffering from vertigo. At the far end of this impressive lookout post you have stupendous views all the way to the coast.

From there you have fantastic walks through the rain forest, notably the Wonga Way taking in at least a couple of wonderful waterfalls and some stupendous forest. Oh, and the constant musical accompaniment of the birds. Absolutely wonderful.

Well worth a visit, the Rainforest Centre boasts a large, very well stocked range of lovely goods and expert information.
The highlight is the Skywalk which extends over the rainforest canopy and provides spectacular views towards the Coffs Coast. Several rainforest trails emanate from the centre and we also picked up some very reasonably-priced rainforest plants which are a fundraiser for the local Landcare group.
The Waterfall Way is a spectacular drive that winds through beautiful Bellingen and then climbs up to the Dorrigo National Park.
A beautiful day out in the best that nature has to offer.

The drive up to the park was long and winding, and then we turned off the main road onto undulating farmland and I thought that the park was going to be an disappointment, However I was completely wrong - the atmosphere and the walks and the cafe were all excellent. One of the walks is closed for reconstruction but this wasn't a major issue. It's a $2 donation entry fee which is really cheap and the walks are great - very atmospheric and with explanatory displays along the way. Waterfalls were great.
Cafe was good and friendly - lamb shank and mash was lovely and tasty.

I had a wonderful afternoon in Dorrigo National Park. The walk was pretty steamy, but if you’re happy to take it slow it is not challenging for most with modest fitness.

It’s well worth doing the full loop to see both waterfalls, with lots of stunning valley views and awesome trees to inspire along the way. Take a few moments to pause too, so that the butterflies and birds will show themselves

Amazing views of the rainforest canopy. The wooden sky walk bridge allows you to walk out over the canopy. The cafe is excellent and the gift shop has a large range of goods. There is a picnic area with an electric barbecue and a wood burning cooking area. Wild wallabies wander freely.

The Wonga walk, 6.5 kms, was an absolute treat. The greenery, smell, sounds plus several waterfall was a great way to spend several hours. Bring sturdy shoes, the path is well made of bitumen, rolled gravel & plastic planks. You won't regret it & you can walk either direction. The skywalk gives a terrific panoramic view, situated high above the tree tops.

Breathtaking stepping into the arms of nature......pure bliss!

This was my welcome to 2021 New Years Day. I packed my back pack and did a hike for several hours through this captivating and breathtaking rainforest. It was overcast with mist on the ranges and the light sprinkle of gentle rain. The waterfalls were filled with an abundance of water cascading with their magic and energy that filled you with nourishing vibes.

This is a must do and will now be a regular adventure that I will par take in. Take your time on the walk to read about the vegetation and history of the area. the shop had a great range of books. The one I purchased was The Oldest Foods on Earth. The staff were engaging and it was evident their passion for this enchanting land.

Called in while exploring the area. Excellent gift shop with a small theatre playing a DVD on local flora and fauna as well as a great range of products. (Birthday presents for some grandchildren now sorted out!). Staff were very friendly and helpful, looking in their store for a size not on display. The walk along the canopy boardwalk is very interesting with great views of the valley at the end as well as the area below and amongst the tree-tops. Only about 50m long so not a problem for the infirm or those in a wheelchair.
