Unless you're going to one of the beaches for the day or hiking the entry price doesn't really justify a short visit. The lighthouse was interesting but the rest was pretty ordinary. I'd stick to Hyams Beach and skip the National Park.

Great afternoon out. Really only need 2 hours to visit here. Usual animals though the camels surprised me. Quiet but imagine during peak non fire season this place would be packed.

This is a gem of an area along the NSW south coast. Many beaches and well defined trails through coastal bushland. All mostly free to enter. Includes rocky outcrops, sandy beaches, picnic areas, Jervis Bay views, plus extensive birdlife and occasional whale spotting in season. Good for all ages either solo, as couples, or families with kids. A host of nearby accommodation, food and retail.

What a wonderful spot. We were lucky to see 6 Echidna's during our stay along with some kanagroos and gorgeous birds. We camped in our 22ft Caravan with no problems. A great spot for kids and a family getaway.

I have holidayed in Jervis Bay on the South Coast of NSW for many years. It is a remarkably beautiful spot. The area has an abundance of beaches, coves and inlets and many times through the year you can find yourself alone on a stunning windswept beach. Callala Beach is only one of many beaches in the area. It has a small village atmosphere full of holiday houses and is attached to Callala Bay and Myola (on the river) which provides easy access for boating and some great fishing. Callala has a holiday van park which is always full in the school holiday season and there is a small number of holiday rentals. It has a daggy local RSL club still stuck in the 1980s that offers reasonable club food and a small shopping centre at Callala Bay. There are areas that have been put aside as a Marine park. It is not uncommon to see large pods of dolphins, ferry penguins and the occasional whales passing through just by sitting on the beach. The sea is a beauitful tourquise colour with powdery white sand, near the shore the water on calm days is a transparent simmering green where it it is easy to see the sea life swimming by. Callala Beach is surrounded bv national park and it is not uncommom to see the wildlife such as kangaroos bouncing along the gulf course. There is an abundance of birds , gallahs, black cockatoos, beautiful coloured parrots that can make an amazing racket. However all this being said it is an amazing calm and tranquil spot on earth.

Jervis Bay National Park is wild, completely untouched and is nature at its finest. The beaches are beautiful. The sand is incredibly white contrasted with the turquoise water. At one of the beaches wallaby’s greeted us on the beach and a green tree snake was hanging off a branch. We watched a pod of dolphins playing beyond the breakers. The water is delightfully refreshing on a warm autumn day and I have no doubt freezing on cooler days.
We rented a beautiful house at Huskisson and loaded the car up each morning with a picnic, plenty of water, sunscreen and beach towels and ventured into the National Park.
Jervis Bay is located only 3 hours from Sydney. Everyone should experience the beauty and rawness of Jervis Bay at least once in their lifetime.

A full charge for a few hours trip was not good. Staffs here looked grumpy. The place is very windy.

Jervis bay was one of the best places we stayed during a recent stay in Sydney!
It is well worth the 3hr drive to get out of the city.
We only had one day to spend here so we did a bit of research on the best beach for snorkelling, as this is one of our favourite hobbies, and decided on Murry's beach. It is located right at the end of Booderee national park. It is a stunning, secluded beach with white sands and crystal clear warm and calm waters. Perfect for snorkelling! There were only a couple of locals there and felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Ospreys circled overhead all day and we even ha a wallaby join us for lunch! Great variety of fish and even saw a few sting rays. We didn't see any dolphins but they have a resident pods that frequents the bay.

The best $11 we've spent this holiday. The fee for entering the national park was well worth every cent. We visited green patch beach, walking from the car park to the beach we saw Roo and joey up close, an abundance of lorakeets, parakeets and kookaburrasee, all quite tame. At hole in the wall we came across a common death adder and at steamer beach wallabies and echidnas. How lucky were we?

Jervis Bay is a wonderful place with virtually everything you could want in a national park: stunning white-sand beaches, safe swimming, superb views across a deep and wide bay, forests, excellent bushwalks and lots of wildlife, including dolphins close to shore and wallabies on shore, plus birds galore. Recommend the White Sands walk.

Can you suggest some dog friendly caravan parks in the Jervis Bay area
preferably near a beach?

Hi - sorry I don't know about Caravan Parks at Jervis Bay.
We stayed in the waterfront units at the Coral Lodge Caravan Park at Greenwell Point near the mouth of the Shoalhaven river. It has mainly permanent vans. Very popular with fisherman. We have stayed in their units 3 times visiting the Shoalhaven & Jervis Bay... we don't have dogs.. If you want to be at Jervis Bay itself you will have to check with those parks. cheers

Hi, my best friend & I are looking for a dog friendly caravan park (5 dogs in total) near the beach at Jervis Bay for 4-5 nights from around 14 March to 19 March.

Dog's cannot have access to the National Park but they are allowed on Hyams Beach.... there is one caravan park in 'Husky' so contact them to see if they will allow dogs?
