How fit am I? If nothing else, please ask yourself this question and answer it honestly prior to embarking on this hike! Actually, let’s be realistic here. Without wishing to get into great debate on the meaning of words I am going to use a...More

Trek with Jack Shick who was an excellent guide. Our group was around 10 and unfortunately two folk in the group were slow on the steep ascent and even slower on the slippy descent. Essential to not only have a good level of fitness but...More

We are in our 50's and relatively fit, but found the hike to Mt Gower a challenge and decided to not push to the top at the saddle with 1 hour left to the top. This we found as the best time to take time...More

With guide Jack this is one of the most exhilarating mountain climbs you can do. The guide has fabulous local knowledge of the island in general and also specifically about Mount Gower. Not an easy climb and a good level of fitness is required.

Did this walk with Jack Schick as our guide (you need a guide and it does cost $100). 10km round trip with an 870m climb and it took all day. But the views are great and the landscapes are amazing. You need to be quite...More
