Small friendly old fashioned museum. Docents eager to save Mauch Chunk/Jim Thorpe history which really enhanced our visit. A 20 minute video really sinks in the major details. A wise idea firstling upon arriving.

This is a nice non guided tour with a video explaining a lot of the history of the town. It's very inexpensive and the staff were more than helpful.

small museum but informative town info, enjoyed it, don't think kids would enjoy it though unless they are older and into learning about history

I did not expect much when I came here at first. No, this is not your typical small town museum. It really does give a detaile history of the town.

Took a short trip while in the Poconos. This was some place we had discussed going to and found a parking space across from the museum. There is a five dollar admission fee and you start by viewing a 15 minute video outlining the area...More

My husband and I visited here on 8/13. (The picture that is posted is not the museum.) They showed you a 10-15min video about the town and then there were a lot of artifacts to look at. It was only $5.00, so you should browse...More
