This is a little hole-in-the-wall shop that is all about mushrooms. They sell actual mushrooms, but most of the merchandise is non-food. They have shirts and other clothing, cookbooks, decorations, knick-knacks, etc. There is an exhibit in that back that used to be in the Mushroom Museum, now defunct, that shows how mushrooms are grown commercially. Interesting. The owner heads... More

During the holidays, you never know what shops are open between 5 and 6 p.m., but the lights are on here! Was looking for dried mushrooms for a Polish soup, and the owner knew just what was needed--porcinis. Soup was good, great shop.

Cute little small business town shop. Friendly staff, good selections of products such as cards, mushroom products, spices, t-shirts, toys, etc. Pricing reasonable.

I love the Mushroom Cap. They have so many random mushroom trinkets and souvenirs. Admittedly it seems a bit touristy, but I am a tourist after all! The fresh mushrooms are so much better than what you get at the grocery store and they keep so nicely in the refrigerator - much longer than I would have expected. They have... More

TripAdvisor led us to the Mushroom Cap. I was expecting a much larger place but was not disappointed in what was available. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. We watched a video that really helped us understand the mushroom industry of the area and the many different types of mushrooms.

Start from the premise that this part of Pennsylvania bills itself as the mushroom capital of the world, and then build on that. The upper level of the store sells an incomparable collection of mushroom related tchotchkes, and its a great place to look for unusual gifts for the gourmet cooks and mushroom lovers on your list. If you have... More
