We started to frequent and attend events sponsored by the tasting room in 2012. The wines presented by Jack and Amy Thorn are the first California wines to be offered in a stand alone store in Pennsylvania. We enjoy the friendly and knowledgeable staff, and of course the fine wines.

we had gone there for a high school reunion, wine tasting and had a blast learning about the wines, where they are from and how they got their names. Rachel Thon was our hostess and she was wonderful! the dessert wines were my favorite, "fire" and "ice" , my husband enjoyed the zinfandel. while they are on the expensive side,... More

This is a great place to visit, either for a quiet glass of wine on an evening or afternoon, or an evening of music and lots of people and fabulous wine on a Friday music night, or a fun party and wine tasting during one of their many release parties. You don't need to be a member to enjoy this... More

On a 95 degree and super humid day- what a great way to stay cool and enjoy tasting some very good wines from California - surprisingly in Lancaster. Like others said- super knowledgable and passionate about the wines server in an unexpected pleasant environment in a strip mall. Very nice wines- and walked out with 3 bottles. If you are... More

Had a blast doing the testing. Left with four bottles! It's expensive but was amazing. I am so excited to open my bottles based on how great the testing was!

Although it's located In a small plaza, the inside of this tasting room was very cozy and nicely decorated. We enjoyed tasting the California wines and hearing about the vineyards they own. We found the pours to be very small compared to other PA/NY wineries we've visited - most likely because the wines themselves are expensive ($50 per bottle, which... More

From the reviews, my husband and I thought we could stop in and for a wine tasting, and we were disappointed that we couldn't. The owner's daughter was there, and she was extremely pleasant and shared some interesting background information about the wine shop. She even allowed us a few tastings, but we had gone out of our way to... More

Top notch wines from this California vineyard - - - from Sonoma, Napa, and Lake County. Taste before you buy. Our host was very knowledgeable about wines and recommended several options for our dinner menu. Great choice - - - the wine was a hit!

This is a great little wine bar serving excellent CA wines from vineyards in Napa, Sonoma and Lake County, California. The owners who have the vineyard in CA bring their wines to central PA for our tasting pleasure. There is a fee, $7 for five tastings, but it is well worth it. They have red and white, some sweet but... More

My spouse purchased a wine tasting event at Thornhill for us and three other couples. Everyone, oenophile or not, had a fabulous time. The wines, and the cheeses, were far above my expectation (admittedly I did not realize that the three Thorn family vineyards are in California -- just the store is in Lancaster). Jack Thorn personally spent a lot... More
