The town of Lititz was founded by the Moravians. Its entire history begins at Moravian Square. From the beautiful white church to the cemetery that dates back over two centuries. If you're luck, you'll hear the trombone choir, or get some yummy monkey bread! The church is located just across the street from the very first pretzel bakery in America... More

If you walk Main Street Lititz, it is hard to miss the Moravian Church Square. The square is open to the public, and you can pre-arrange tours of the church buildings and grounds, including the cemetery, Moravian store and gift shop, and burial building. They also have an amazing museum. You will need to contact them (they have a website)... More

I was not aware until this visit to Lancaster how significant the Moravians were to this area. Apparently at one time only Moravians could live in Lititz.

Having learned about the history of the Moravian community and about the various buildings that are part of the church complex, looking in at them --and going into the church-- was very interesting. It is an idyllic spot that is still being used, cared for and loved.

Not only a simple and lovely church, the surrounding grounds are worth a walk around. There are informative signs and nice pathways. Navigate to the Historical Foundation for wonderful information on these buildings and the history of the community.

This was the title of a brochure I picked up in the Moravian Mission Gift Shop. I had never heard of the Moravian Church and was amazed to learn it had been in existence since 1457! The Church Square is beautiful and the Archives and Museum was fascinating! I would love to attend a Christmas Vigil Love Feast Service and... More

The Moravian Church is the reason that Lititz exists as it does. Look it up! My great grandfather assisted in the building of the Sunday School building and a grand piece of furniture is dedicated to him. This complex is absolutely breathtaking and is so full of history! The Moravians have special rituals, not to be missed, such as the... More

The Moravia Church dates back to the dawn of Lititz. The local Founding Fathers were all Moravians. The architecture of the old church is quite lovely. If you love history and the quaint feel of a small town you should visit.

My wife and I were in Lititz for our wedding anniversary and the weather was beautiful for walking and exploring everything Lititz has to offer. We walked the entire area of the Moravian Church Square and the Linden Hall girls school campus. Wow, what a wonderful property. Very large property and lots to see. We did get to see the... More

The Moravian Church Square are something to behold. The gorgeous architecture and stately grounds seem at peace with the world. The hand of the Moravian's can still be seen all over town even today. Be sure to tour inside and marvel at the church, walk the grounds and visit the small gift shop on the square.Though the property extends to the edge of... More
