I have been going to the Oil City Library since I was a child and in turn took my children there. It is an outstanding library for a small town like Oil City although Oil City used to be over twice the size it is today. However, the library has gone through ups and downs and has managed to stay... More

This is a great library, with a very friendly and informative staff. I have been a cardholder at this library for over fifty years. There is a wide variety of things to check out...from books, videos, magazines, even metal detectors, etc. I will always be a cardholder...this is one of my favorite places in Oil City. We are very fortunate... More

Lovely knowledgeable staff. Felt very grand. It was built by Andrew Carnegie and it reads of old time opulence from the marble and polished wood.

Wonderful people to talk too at the front desk in the library, very helpful too. I chose the Microfilm room to look things up in the older news papers. I have also enjoyed the Genealogy room upstair's in the Oil City Library, alot of wonderful things to look at and read.

This is a lovely building, very inviting and much better stocked than my native Franklin one . Good displays and a cool painting of a night time abstract cityscape which friends and I admire.

Great for travelers to check emails, print boarding passes for flights, or just browse the great collection. Let the kids play with blocks, puzzles and toys while reading a favorite story on the deacon rocking chair! E-Books are available now too!

I'm prejudiced because I spent so much time here when I was growing up and in school many years ago. I guess I realized even then how lucky Oil City was to have a quality library in a beautiful building. Now, during a brief visit, I discovered it has been wonderfully maintained, with a bank of computers for internet access.

This library is a regional gem and puts up creative and interesting programs, especially for children from all over the county.
